Super cute and basically the best thing ever. Short but really sweet. You wouldn't understand until you've seen the episode, but it is very heartwarming at the end I was near tears.

The ending was extremely satisfactory because no conflict was left unsolved, and it also allowed room for a sequel episode.

The soundtrack was glorious, and the animation was kawaii desu. The characters went through significant development and grew into a loveable and memorable
cast of humans and dogs.

The voice acting was phenomenal.

Overall, this was the most enjoyable experience of the week for me. Really made my entire day.

Chokotan is an adaptation of an ongoing manga written by Takeuchi Kozue. The special is only ten minutes long and was handled by J.C. Staff. Yes, the same studio behind Potemayo, The Slayers and Honey & Clover, to name a few. So, how do they handle adapting an ongoing manga into a really short special? Let's take a look and find out.

Story:

The titular Chokotan is a miniature Dachshund. Her owner, Nao, likes a boy in her school named Arima and gets to see him everyday when taking Chokotan for her morning walk in spite of being in different classes. Also, Chokotan can talk like ...

The primary problem that I have with this show is that it's dreadfully boring. This OVA doesn't even bother to give the audience anything resembling a character introduction before we are thrown into this predictable, yet at the same time, nonsensical "journey". There's very little plot to be seen in this anime. The girl's crush and jealousy surrounding the one male in this show comes out of utter nowhere and the story gives us no reason to care about her plight. The thin conflict has an equally shallow resolution with no weight to it. The animation and art was also a bit unsettling. Characters rarely ...

I gave this OVA a 8.

Despite it being disturbingly sweet, it looks like it would be an outstanding anime for 8-12 year old girls.

It is kinda stereotypical of what the Japanese seem to think girls want to watch, ie. sweet and cloying romance, but no one needs to be watching just this kinda anime all the time. That is what made me drop it from a 9 to an 8 truth be told.

I continuously compared it to children's talking animal cartoons of the west and came see this as a "workable" premise, in that it seems to be around a "power" of the dog. I ...

I know the special was only ten minutes, but it was way too fluffy and I found myself unable to like the characters. Other stuff that's been short and sickeningly fluffy I've at least liked the characters, or at least not disliked them. The animation and sound weren't that great either. It was just... there. Also, all the characters are pretty much cut out stereotypes. Not to mention the fact I easily guessed how the plot was going to unfold. Nothing much to say other then this. If it had been longer then ten minutes I would have quit way before I finished the episode. ...

It was cute and cute.

The anime tells the story of chocotan and her owner. She is a dog that can talk with humans for a bad explained reason.
The episodes are short and this didn't get us time to explain a lot of things. But the end is well made and you can tell the story done.I can't say the anime is perfect or have anything that te best i've seen, but i can say i liked how the story goes and how the characters are cute and heartwarming. The dog interactions are the best, and it really could tell a bit more after what happened in the last ep,but it ...
