Baseball spokon and musical spokon (koto) The main school clubs in both shows are made up mostly of rookies with no experience in the sport/competition they practice. And that they will have to compete with very superior schools. Both teams are led by a genius baseball boy and a koto genius girl. In Major this similarity with Kono oto Tomare applies especially in season 3.

Both shows involve the protagonist creating a sports team out of ordinary people, and slowly showing them the passion of the sport despite the obvious lack of ability

An OverPowered protagonist, making through against the adverse conditions, both shows are unrelated and not even of same genre but both share a somewhat of similar spirit. While in Major Goro makes everyone inspire by his baseball love in Saga of Tanya , Tanya achieves things by pressing the practical issues and with almost straightforward pragmatic solution irrelevant of the consequences, in the grander scale Tanya has the win. Both focus on getting people towards a common goal while one is on battlefield other is baseball stadium.

Major S3 and Hinomaruzumou have the same story structure: A talented athlete becomes a student in a high school that does not have a team for their favourite sport. Gorou and Hinomaru must somehow convince their classmates to help them form a sports team and aim for the top. Gorou and Hinomaru are absolute beasts at baseball and sumo, but their abilities are not enough to win in a team sports. Can the underdogs win? Major is an excellent sports franchise and Hinomaruzumou is a fun anime.

Major S3 and Ahiru no Sora have the same premise: A talented athlete becomes a student in a high school that does not a team for their favourite sport. Gorou and Sora must therefore recruit classmates to establish a sports team and aim for winning nationals. Gorou is an absolute beast at baseball whereas Sora is at a disadvantage because of his height. You know what to expect from this type of underdog story. Can the impossible become reality? Major is an excellent sports franchise and definitely worth the time investment to reach season 3 and beyond. Ahiru no Sora has a slower pace, which  read more

Major is one of the best shounen sports show around, following the tracks of the classic hajime no ippo with an even better background story and characters.

Another Sports Anime. Major is all about Baseball and follows a boy from his childhood all the way beyond high school. While it IS a different sport, it has the same theme of "determination and drive" regardless of the opponent. Major is a bit more serious in tone than Eyeshield, but still has it's fun.
