SynopsisHagino Yuzuru is a normal high school student attending Houjou academy. There is a special course within the school called the Kuge course for the rich. Only students with a flower name within their name can enrol in the program. There is a "Honey system" where the special student chooses a normal student as his "honey." This relationship is like a master and honey. In return for being a "honey" the master pays all of the "honey's" tuition and must obey all commands. Hagino Yuzuru gets involved with Renge Kai, one of the special students, and it could be a big mistake for Yuzuru.

I somehow managed to stumble upon this anime while wondering MAL. I haven't seen much common, cute, lovey-dovey romance in a while, so I was like 'heck, one hour of sweet romance would be enough for now'. Now I say, I should've used my precious time for something that actually has a point. This anime... is disappointing to core.
~Story~ (1)
Considering there actually IS a plot, you may say the rating shoud've been larger. But it isn't. Why? Because this plot you read in the description of the anime, is nothing more, but something being made so there could be some sexual harassment in the anime, WHICH by the way, I didn't approve at all. That isn't bloody romance. And who the hell put 'romance' tag on his thing? The only time I've seen romance was the last 5 seconds, yet I haven't seen anything that actually supported their so-called love. So this is kind of 'master-servant' relationship between students - what school in the world is giving away students to be sexually harassed? AND FOR MONEY?! Seriously, Minami-san, get some logic would you?
~Art~ (7)
Like any other 2 episode OVA, this art was actually rather good. It was pretty much typical bishoujo and bishounen drawn, since all of the characters are rather cute/hot/something-else, but nothing special, pr original. They used the blasted slow-motion so many times, the whole anime should've lasted 20 minutes, not one hour.
~Sound~ (4)
Pfft. Oh well, the opening wasn't that bad, something that pretty much resembles any other romantic anime opening, but gee, the background music was terrible! It was almost as if the anime was dealing with the matter life and death, but sadly enough, it didn't. No~ we listened over-dramatic music back then when he told her she was doing it wrong, like, God, that must not happen again. (basketball) The voice actors are annoying, and WAY~ too cliche. I was surprised when I noticed Misato voicing Yin from Darker than Black actually appeared here. What a loss of time for her. Yin rules.
~Character~ (3)
God, if I got a coin for every second of main male character saying words 'idiot' and 'honey' I would be surrounded by Japanese waiters, cosplaying and yelling 'irashaimasen' by now. Their personalities are all so goddamn blunt, so undeveloped, and just illogical! The girl almost willingly let the guy touch her anywhere he wants, and in front of people. And not just her, he! HE! Who in the world harasses a girl in front of other people?!
The other characters seem to enjoy the show any time that happens. And in the end, it's actually hinted the guy loves the girl. Aww, well, shoving your hand down her panties is not really making a point, I believe.
~Enjoyment~ (3)
Well, it wasn't as horrible as 'OMG, MY EYES' but it was very boring, very predictable, and extremely cliche. The rare moments where something romantic would happen were cute, and the beginning actually looked promising, so I gave the credits for that, although I didn't enjoy that as close as much I believed I will.
~Overall~ (4)
No, it's not decent, it's bad, I don't understand why the 'names' of the ranking are different in the review from ones in your anime list. This anime has no developed story, just the settings, and horrible ones at that, characters are total idiots, and every single scene is presented as something VERY dramatic, while it isn't at all.
This anime sucks. Point made. You don't have to take it, though. read more

I begin with a quote from the female protagonist of this OAV: 'That's plain sexual harassment!'
And it sure is, and continues to be the direction throughout Mitsu x Mitsu Drops. First thing's first, just don't watch this anime.
The story is wonderfully clichéd. When HAVEN'T we seen someone blackmail another person into adhering to their every whim? This anime transports the age-old hentai storyline and uses it for itself. Teenager Yuzuru gains entry to an elite school for the wealthy, and to pay her school fees, she is indebted to a patron who offers her a scholarship of sorts. Don't mind asking why this girl from an average income family wants to apply to a school that would cripple her parents financially, a school they in fact cannot afford to send her in any case, but that's all secondary. The important part of Mitsu x Mitsu Drops is Yuzuru's sexual harassment by--oops, I mean 'turbulent romance with'--Kai, the young rich man who agrees to pay for her tuition. In the grand tradition of soft-core hentai, he extorts her and abuses her only to realise that he truly cares about her. The entire plot hinges on whether she loves him back... Sounds romantic, doesn't it?
With a magnificently bad storyline from the get-go, the rest of the anime seemed to follow suit. The art wasn't very good. The characters all looked like they had been oiled down for a day at the beach, because they had a very unnatural shine on their skin. The character design was sloppy, and the animation was not good as well. There were a lot of action scenes, and they look pretty terrible in the sense that they were not animated well. There were a lot of close-ups and characters standing absolutely still to minimise the work of the animators.
As for the sound, I didn't know that the throbbing heartbeat technique for suspense was still fashionable. However, this anime resurrects the most clichéd of sound effects and music ever to play in the backdrop. There's a boring poppy soundtrack to it and it totally does not leave a lasting impression.
How can one call a bunch of neanderthals 'characters'? I suppose I am forced to, for the moment. The characters are bad. There's Yuzuru, the female protagonist, who is stupid. Honest to goodness dumb. Her sole purpose of existing for this anime is to be fanservice, to scream a lot, and to be a plot device. She has absolutely no personality other than being a bland moron. I loved how she eventually interpreted molestation as a sign of love from Kai. What a great thing to teach girls. As for Kai, he is the most uncouth, vile protagonist in a romance I have seen in while. He mistreats the object of his affection, and you may sum it up to immaturity or roughness on his part, but since when is sexual harassment a sign of immaturity? Last I heard, it's a felony. These characters are flat and actually rather unlikeable people. The supporting cast is made up of a bunch of cavemen who act like people are possessions. Is this supposed to be a romance??
Mitsu x Mitsu Drops or Honey x Honey Drops as I've also seen it called is an awful anime. Bad storyline, bad characters, bad animation. With a little more nudity, it could have been a typical hentai.
Contrary to popular belief, molestation isn't romantic at all. read more
