Both of these titles are about anime production. The main characters even share the same positions. They are a great way to learn how anime is made and the interesting "characters" behind it. Animation Runner Kuromi is shorter and bit older (so some of the information is a little out of date) but is a great quick glance into production. Shirobako is a 2 cour series so it goes much more in depth and includes modern techniques like using 3D.

Both illustrates how manga/doujin artists do work behind the scenes.

These two anime directed by Akitarou Daichi are both crazy looks into the entertainment industry with a similar hyperactive style and crazy sense of humor, including snarky commentary by bizarre little creatures in the foreground.

Both are "anime about making anime" with a "yes we can" spirit to make this complex process happen. Eizouken has emphasis on the creative and artistic process and juvenile protagonists, where Kuromi-chan focuses on the industry and features young adult professionals. Both shows have a positive world view, fast pace, and uplifting message. In both, most protagonists have some odd personality traits considered typical for otaku.

Both of them show the other side of anime - the process of its creation. Besides the main character in Otaku no Video and in Animation Runner Kuromi works hard to make his/her dream come true.

The kuromi´s dream was to make animation and for it she entered to the petit´s studio. Anime very similar to Genshiken, with much comedy.

This recommendation is with specific reference to the 6th/final episode of Golden Boy (Animation is Fun!). If you enjoyed seeing the production process of anime portrayed in anime, then "Animation Runner Kuromi" has a fairly similar theme and plot. Kuromi plays a similar role to Kintaro in the episode, trying to coordinate the work of various staff to race to a production deadline. Different sort of comedy to Golden Boy and not the ecchi, but it in itself is a fun OVA series and expands on the depiction of anime production as given in that particular episode of Golden Boy.
