They're similar since both of them are about magical girls, comedy, romance and school life. If you liked one is possible that you'll like the other. However, CCS is better than UM

Both series involve witches from their own magic realm going to the human world, both Aya from Ultramaniac and Chocolat from Sugar Sugar Rune are on some sort of trial to become queen of their realm. Episodes tend to be more episodic with lots of sweet moments, a bit of growing up, and a bit of romance and enough plot or mystery to tie it together and keep up the interest. In the though, I found Sugar Sugar Rune to have a more complex story, better romance, more memorable characters and more inventive witch realm. If you enjoy one of these series, I highly expect  read more

They both start with that ordinary school girl, Then discovers the supernatural world of magic. Both very humorous and out of the ordinary, but completely amazing. A supernatural anime and manga and involves romance, comedy, and fantasy.

Though Kimi ni Todoke is about a social reject and a popular boy, and Ultra Maniac is about two relatively popular people, both are about two characters that like each other but don't want the other to know. Ultra Maniac is also semi magic-girl, as the best friend of the main character is one, but other than that, the love stories are both slow but sweet, and the boys both seem like boring, static characters, but are actually deep people who aren't what they seem. Love them both! If you liked one, you'll probably like the other.

Both series involves magic and fantasy as well as romance between main characters. The art style is also somewhat similar and as the series goes, misunderstandings takes place that leads to drama and plot holes.

Both have the same feeling from romance but in Ultra Maniac magic is involve while in Kiss Him, Not Me! is more of a Slice of Life

these series have 2 main characters (one of the heroes and heroines) who keep up fake images of "perfect" role model students, though the reasons for them are different in each anime. these 4 characters also fall in love.

Both have a girl in love with a boy. In Ultra Maniac, Nina will do anything to get Ayu her crush, Kaji Tetsushi. In Pucca, Pucca will do anything to kiss garu.

Both series contain comedy, drama, and romance that takes place in a school life setting. Both series' animation are also similar and the main male protagonists are popular with the girls.

-Mahou shojo involved. -Two girls of opposite personalities are the protagonists. -The maho shojo give many problems to the "normal girl" Maybe uta~Kata is more mature than ultra maniac, and has more drama.

Both shows focus on secret "princesses" who are living their lives in regular society. They are both also engaged to marry the Prince, which is unknown by the friends they made

Both are slice of life anime mix up with a fantastic element to it, Ultra Maniac has witches and magic, while Narue has aliens and Sci-Fi, they're both light hearted anime easy to watch with comedy and romance themes also present and towards the end they have a those kinda moments that turns the thing more serious. Coincidentally they aired the same season of 2003 so they have similar production values from that time.

The story in both series revolves around princesses trying to achieve their own goals. Ultra Maniac and Princess Tutu are also similar in that Ahiru is clumsy and so is Nina.

If you're looking for a rarely known, fun to watch and enjoyable Mahou Shoujo anime, you've just found two. "Fushigi Mahou Fun Fun Pharmacy" is a story about Popuri, an ordinary girl, who one day stumbles upon a Witch's shop and later learns how to use magic. "Ultra Maniac" is about Nina, a witch drop-out from magic kingdom, who moves to the human world in order to improve her magic skill.

both anime are about magical powers they both take place in schools. both anime have very similar romance stories as well. both main female protagonist have special powers out of the ordinary

Even if the magical girl is not directly involved on Earth, she gives a magical ribbon to a normal and clusmy girl, who resembles Nina. Moreover, the magical girl gives the ribbon to test her skills since she'll become the queen of her kingdom. It's also funny and there's some romance.

Both animes have magic, and rivalry over something. Mahou shoujo has a lot of action, while Ultra maniac is more relaxing.

Solving problems with magic? Yes Super cute & funny? yes Both shows have energetic protagonist who must use the power of magic and overcome problems in their friendships. Similar carefree, family friendly vibe.

1. The outfits of the magic girls have simular detail. 2. The anime has a build up to the climax at the end, then a mellow addition at the end. 3. The characters are very unique.

Both are race of the magic girls to obtain something to become the number one, in one case to become a princess, and in the other to become the number one magic girl.

Pretty cure is the same as the Ultra Maniac. The sameness is because they use magic and besides that Nina uses powers which are high technology like the Pretty Cure...

Both Zero no Tsukaima and Ultra Maniac deal with a girl who can do magic and involves a Magical Kingdom.

Shugo Chara has the same nice romance points as Ultra Maniac, maybe not as much as it but an ample amount. Amu(Shugo Chara) is known as being cool and stylish at her school, but that isn't her true self. If you liked that concept from Ultra Maniac, i'm sure you'll love Shugo Chara). Shugo Chara is in the magical girl genre like Ultra Maniac. The music is really nice too. So basically, Shugo Chara isn't as serious as Ultra Maniac, but for the magical-girl/shoujo/romance lovers you'll love it. ^ ^

Similar concepts- They both start as candidates and in order to become princesses they must find and do certain things. Thay are also both magical animes.

Both have to do with magical girls but the difference is that they have completely different plots. Also, all the characters are lovable!

Both have a common theme of friendship, school, magic and boys.

both main girls remind me of ichigo in some way and both anime has magic even if in different ways
report Recommended by setogirl2
Both have a story set around some kind of magic, and the art styles are similar. Although Fullmoon has a theme of shinigami and Ultra Maniac has a theme about witches, both have some magical mishaps and funny moments.

Well this anime isn't similar in the idol aspect, but the characters and romance reminds me of Kirarin Revolution in a way. definitely worth watching if you liked kirarin revolution ^^
