Synopsis

In the blink of an eye, thirty thousand bewildered Japanese gamers are whisked from their everyday lives into the world of the popular MMORPG, Elder Tale, after the game's latest update—unable to log out. Among them is the socially awkward college student Shiroe, whose confusion and shock lasts only a moment as, a veteran of the game, he immediately sets out to explore the limits of his new reality.

Shiroe must learn to live in this new world, leading others and negotiating with the NPC "natives" in order to bring stability to the virtual city of Akihabara. He is joined by his unfortunate friend Naotsugu, having logged in for the first time in years only to find himself trapped, and Akatsuki, a petite but fierce assassin who labels Shiroe as her master. A tale of fantasy, adventure, and politics, Log Horizon explores the elements of gaming through the eyes of a master strategist who attempts to make the best of a puzzling situation.

It's hard writing a review on an isekai without mentioning the whole genre.
Isekais are famous for having crazy ideas distilled into bland, boring and uninteresting narratives & characters. I never really watched that many isekais, but the overall hate surrounding the genre makes me want to avoid it. The way I see it, most of these fall into the "forgettable fun" or "cool to hate" shows. But there are some rare shows that do some cool things.
ReZero works around the overpowered trope by taking a normal/not OP human to suffer in a generic isekai, Mushoku Tensei works around the "another world, another chance" trope by ...

What started off as an intriguing view of how the world worked lost its luster as the show got bogged down in its own politics. The few action scenes were bland, and this is the first time I've ever heard an OST that was so repetitive and uninspired that I actually got annoyed. The characters were likable, but most were very generic. The fact that the main trio was pushed to the side for pretty much the entire second half of the season was also very annoying.

Kinda sad for the mc as he got all the flat girls.
Felt like The anime was more of a political discussion and romance series rather than a actual rpg isekai.ep1-7 was pure gold and after that it digs into politics and other shit but gets worse through the whole series (season 2 and 3 was shit )
