Kekkaishi

Basically the same genre and fighting of power spirits/monsters. Both with great fighting scenes and art work pretty much the same. 

Put simply, both series share a very similar atmosphere. They also have the same style of implementation, and the same type of villains.  

Strong is the bond between those two series. • both are shonen series with main genres as supernatural and action • both main charas are the teenagers whose destiny is to inherit their grandfathers' rank; they both through the story will grow up and slowly accept and embrace this fate • an ulterior important point to mention is that both anime adaptations are faithful to the manga story (can't be said the same thing of many other series out there) and both start out with a slow pace: for NNM is the first season, for Kekkaishi is around the first half of the serie; but after that everything begins to make sense and having a very good pace, from whom the action genre comes. Still both anime (NNM s2 and Kekkaishi's last episode) end up after a precise arc who is a firm point in the storyline of the manga. Trustful adaptations are always a very good thing. • both stories deal with ancient japanese legendary creatures: Ayakashi and Youkais. • both of the protagonists have quite original powers and way to fight (Rikuo has the Matoi, while Yoshimori has the Kekkai) If you liked one of those, especially due to its interesting and creative story, you might really love the another as well! Shounen's that focus on atmosphere, while still having great action.  

In both series, the main male protagonist may seem normal but he has a secret and possesses supernatural powers. Both contain shounen battle style themes and involves spirits/demons as adversaries. They also take place in a school life setting where they have friends ensuring drama and comedy. The main male protagonist also inherits a title and strive to carry out a legacy with the help of his friends and family. Both series contains creatures based off of Japanese lore and in general has similar feelings. 

Well they both are the heir to something that has to do with demons. They both fight demons in their spare time, and both are centered around a young boy who doesn't for the most part want anything to do with becoming the heir.  

Both focus on the theme of "ayakashi" or demons, set in modern times. Both feature protagonists who are young and powerful, yet haven't fully realized their latent abilities. There's an undercurrent of romance in both, with the occasional comedic relief in the form of the the protagonist's friends. Both are set in a school setting as well 

Both center around the young heir to a supernatural clan and their fight to control the spiritual forces around them.  

Middle school boys, family heirs, omnyouji, and ayakashi. Kekkaishi revolves around a boy who hunts the supernatural, whereas nura is all about a boy who learns to accept that he IS a youkai… but they still have very similar vibes. Both have lovable characters and en engaging storyline. 

Both is about these kids who fight ayakashi. Both yoshimaru and masahiro have great latent spiritual powers. Also, they both have some kind of companion, yoshimori has a dog ayakashi and masahiro has some kind of rabbit thingy.. 

Both are about a young boy with great latent power who fights against devil. Similarity: 3* 

In both anime the story evolve around a young boy who in the begining is not willing and strong enough to fight evil spirits. Both of them need to defend a land in one case a sacred land in other the capitol. Also both of them over the day have school/job that they need to attend, and the nigth is they duty to be exterminator of monsters. They make friends along the way and familiy also helps them out. Comedy is present in both anime, which is good, and the music in them is also excellent! Well maybe the main difference is the time setting. Also waiting for second season for both, because the manga/novel is still ongoing and there is a chance for good sequel! Enjoy ^^ read more 

Both anime are about young (and by extension, not-so-experienced) "priest" (for a lack of a better word) dealing with supernatural beings. The main diffrence is that Kekkaishi is made in modern times, while the Shounen Onmyouji tells the story happening in a distant past (but more or less in our own world). 

Both these series have a young male protagonist who is training in the handling and banishing of demons. Thus the action sequences and character-growth have a very similiar flavor. Many of the fight sequences of both series take place at night, when the main character is on watch for ayakashi or other monsters. The main difference between the two is setting, as Kekkaishi takes place in the present, and Shounen Onmyouji takes place in the Heian era. But if you like the feel of one, I think you'll like the other as well. 

Both are about exorcising ayakashi, and the main characters both have ayakashi familiars. There is also slight romance in both. 

Young Onmyouji protecting their little part of japan from malicious ayakashi under the tutelage of their more powerful grandfathers? The shows may be wildly different in their execution and fine details, but they share a core to an almost uncanny degree. 

They both deal with the entire boy getting powers, protecting girl, death spirits kind of theme. 

Very similar in that there are monsters that the 'special people' with special powers must protect the humans from, different dimensions and so on.  

Although both deal with different theme's, both anime's deal with action-packed adventures, comedy, similar clothing and enough eps to live of for a longer period. 

Both involve a junior high/high school kid finding out that he has some kind of secret supernatural power. With these powers, they save innocent people from the attacks of monsters that resulted because of ghosts that became these monsters after they couldn't reach "the other side". They even have kind of the same outfits... and although they both have this action, they're both pretty funny. 

Both the anime is very similar, Ichigo and Yoshimori discovering their powers, first the two girls Rukia and Tokine behind them is stronger, after which time they are becoming stronger and wants to protect all to them precious, and others. both anime have many different type spirits ( evil, good...) Both protagonist helping spirits, normal people don't see them. The man character in kekkaishi have Sumimura family's demon dog and in bleach special type of soul pill called a "modified soul" or "ModSoul. Both anime verry funny and somtimes sad, animation in both very good, plot is little different. Ishigo ( shinigami) Yoshimori ( Kekkaishi). 

-In this anime the protagonists are exterminating ayakashis. -Initially both of these anime are episodic but after a while they have a full-fledged storyline (kekkaishi takes longer though to get there because it has more episodes) 

This is about a spirit gardian that use its spirits power for defendin a shrine burried under it's highschool. 

Both are heavily based around Shinto and Buddhist mythology and both are supernatural and have spirits of some sort,though in Kekkaishi it's in modern-day times in the everyday world where the spirits(called ayakashi) are invisible to everyone except for people with special powers, but in Inuyasha it's in a fantasy version of the fuedal era Japan where the spirits(translated as demons, but really yokai(Japanese spirit monsters) are visible and have a pyshical exsistance. Both also have elements of comedy, action/adventure, and romance. 

Although there are some key differences between Kekkaishi and InuYasha, both shows share similarities such as the demon like creatures and the relationship between the main characters. I thought both shows were quite funny at times, and I would highly recommend both. 

Nobody seems to have mentioned the fact that the soundtracks are done by the same composer - Iwasaki Taku 

Both shows revolve around teenagers who fight spiritual beings (Kishin in "Soul Eater" and Ayakashi in "Kekkaishi"). The soundtracks have the same composer (Taku Iwasaki) and the shows start off episodic but build into a bigger story later. The heroines (Maka and Tokine) are very similar- they both rely on brains and skill rather than brute force, frequently go between bickering with and showing concern for the male leads and to top it all they share the same voice actor (Laura Bailey). The male leads (Soul and Yoshimori) aren't too similar, with the exception that they're both willing to protect the heroine regardless of what happens to their own lives, much to the heroines' exasperation. Similiar to Ushio to Tora in the sense they both are the younger men of their household, it's a religious household that performs exorcisms, the difference is maybe Kekkaishi isn't a monster and a kid from the beginning, since the monster is initially tamed, opposite to the case of Tora which is wild since the beginning. Instead of a Spear, in Kekkaishi powers are used. 

Well, not too similar but the determination of the 2 protagonists are very similar. They have similar goals: To protect those they find dear at any cost. They're both reckless, hard-headed, but they're both determined. As in plot they're not similar but as for characters. Yes they're are quite similar.  

Although both series takes place in a different setting, Mushibugyou and Kekkaishi both involves characters who possesses supernatural abilities and specializes in fighting monsters that threatens their very existence. The creatures in both series contrasts each other but both display malevolent deeds. The main male protagonist in both series also seems hotheaded at times and carries an affection towards the main female protagonist. However, they do treasure them truly. Both series also features a group of antagonists that becomes prominent as the episodes progresses. There's action, drama, comedy, and supernatural elements in both shows. 

-Both have the Female MC and Male MC as 'exorcists' exorcising demons (ayakashi / kegare) together and want to protect one another -Benio has a fox familiar and tokine + yoshimori have fox/dog familiars -Have similar genres of comedy, supernatural, action, etc All in all, each are good shows
