Both animes focus on an illegitimate brother and sister relationship (although in both cases they're not blood related) involving the male protagonist. And while this love in coming into fruition, other girls are also typically interested in this male protagonist. In addition, magic plays a vital role in either helping this relationship develop or hindering it in both animes. One thing to note is that Da Capo has more harem (i.e. more girls interested in the main character) relative to Gift.

both series have a recurring theme each: gift has a rainbow while wind has an airship.. plus both series are focused on romance with a little comedy, and both series have girls skilled with a sword: hikari tsukishiro and rinka hokazono, and have pretty blond haired ladies: nozomi and chisa fujimiya(hey! both characters have the same surname)

Both series involves a lucky guy surrounded by girls with some of them having feelings for him. The setting also seems a bit similar as well as involving school drama, misunderstandings, and love trials. The art of both series are also done well.

Motive of childhood friend, the love triangle, main character don't have one of parents, exterior appearance of characters and their personalities are quite similar, and alike atmosphere- light-hearted story intersected with few problems. I recommend.

Both anime are kinda of like a harem, yet it's mainly two girls who fall for the guy, while he just helps the rest of the girls. One of the main heroine leads is the main guy's responsible non-related-by-blood sister. Both anime are romance, comedy, and lots of drama.

If you liked the childhood friend character in one of these anime, then watch the other as they are the exact same character right down to the looks. They both seem nice and sweet at first but turn crazy when they get jealous.

Story and main character's relationships with other girls are very similar. There is about something about magic

Both of these have relationships that start to improve throughout the series but at the end they have to end it do to circumstances.... Both are very happy and sad animes, might sound oxymoron but its very comforting...

They are both mainly staged around people in love. In both, there are people who get in the way of that.
