SynopsisAmaumi Haruhiko is a high school student who attends Shimano Academy in a town called Narasakicho. Narasakicho contains an unknown rainbow which constantly overlooks the town and is related to granting a magical wish called "Gift". Gift is a once-in-a-lifetime present between two people.
As a child, Haruhiko has been close with his childhood friend, Kirino, until he obtains a new non-blood sister by the name of Riko. Haruhiko develops a strong relationship with Riko until they sadly depart due to the fact Haruhiko's father could no longer support the two of them.
After some times passes by, Riko finally returns to the town of Narasakicho, and along with Kirino, starts to attend Shimano Academy with Haruhiko. The series revolves around the relationship among these main protagonists and slowly reveals the story behind both Gift and the rainbow. |

To tell you the truth, I did not expect much from these series..
but then, it seems I was wrong xD.
Story: the story is the usuall love triangle that I have seen so many times.
A childhood friend and a male protagonist getting along when another old friend that the male character had a crush on( usually) comes back and there goes the triangle. However, the story was, nonetheless, good. It wasn't boring, although there wasn'nt anything that stood out that much.
Art: the art overall was pretty good, and the figures didn't seem out of place. The characters were drawn nicely. The art did certainly bring the rating of this series up.
Sound: the sound was also very nicely fit into the scenes. It really helped set the right atmosphere to each of the scenes that it was put in.
Character: The characters were nothing new, as this type of genre is common, and their actions were almost always predictable. It would have been much better if there was somehting more unique about the characters... but then that may as well have affected the story as a whole.
But this does in no way mean that the characters were shallow. They were well, thought out and each character has his or her own development in the story.
Enjoyment: I really enjoyed these series, it was one of the series were i could lay back and enjoy the whole series, without troubling myself on trying too hard to think in depth on in.
Overall: Overall, I think these serie is really worth watching if you like romance stories and have got the time. I wouldn't say that its a Must-See, but still it is worth the time.

Gift: Eternal Rainbow is yet another anime adaption of an H-game, usually im not into these kinds of anime but this series really proved me wrong on almost every aspect.
Now on to the story:
When I first read the summary I immediatly backed away thinking that its just one of those randomness anime that have no plot, But as above I was proven wrong and im really glad I was wrong, Gift: Eternal Rainbow has a very nice plot, quite confusing during the first half of the series and it starts at a rather slow pace, but as you progress through series It just keeps getting better and better.
The art was very nice and a pleasure to see
The sound was good, I loved the opening because it was catchy and the ending was even more catchier.
The characters were really good, the way art represents them was truly excellent.
I personally enjoyed every single bit while watching this series, It had a perfect mix of magic, Mature harem and love triangle that just brought sadness and sorrow for everyone affected by it.
Overall I give it an 8, I was truly dissapointed of how gift: eternal rainbow has only 12 episodes+ 1 OVA because I felt that this series would be best having at least 20 episodes, but hey im not the producer. read more

Both animes focus on an illegitimate brother and sister relationship (although in both cases they're not blood related) involving the male protagonist. And while this love in coming into fruition, other girls are also typically interested in this male protagonist. In addition, magic plays a vital role in either helping this relationship develop or hindering it in both animes. One thing to note is that Da Capo has more harem (i.e. more girls interested in the main character) relative to Gift.
Two romantic comedy dramas (Heavier emphasis on drama rather than comedy) anime that revolve around sis-con (Sister-Complex) relationships between the male lead and female lead. Both stories also occur in a similar setting involving a town or city that grants people's wishes or desires due to a mysterious or magical object.
There are many similar character archetypes and personalities to be found between both anime as well, and the visual artstyle is strikingly similar.
same scenes or same happenings.. the only big difference is just that the girls in da capo are inlove with the male protagonist.while in gift they just like him as their friend(i guess)..
first off, both gift and da capo has a brother-sister complex. In Gift the couple is Riko and Haruhiko, in da capo the couple is Nemu and Junichi , both of the anime have siblings as a couple.
Second, in gift, the magic that grant wish is the unfaded rainbow, rainbow that always show up, meanwhile in da capo, the magic based on the undying sakura tree, sakura that always blooms.
Third, both in gift and da capo, the male protagonist is being around some girls. In Gift Haruhiko surrounded by Riko, Kirino, Chisa, Rinka, Yukari and Nami. In da capo Junichi surrounded by Nemu, Sakura, Miharu, Moe, Mako, Misaki and Kotori.
Fourth both in gift and da capo, the male protagonist has 1 friend (a guy, not a girl) . In Gift Haruhiko's friend is Masaki, while in Da Capo Junichi's friend is Suginami.
Fifth, both in gift and da capo, there are the victim and the psyco . Both the victim in gift and da capo is the sister. In Gift the victim is Fuko, Haruhiko's younger sister, and the psyco is Kirino, haruhiko's childhood friend. In Da Capo the victim is Nemu, Junichi's younger sister, and the psyco is Sakura, Junichi's cousin .
Many of similarities in both Gift and Da Capo, those five is the one i remember, so if you like gift, you will like da capo too. It's the same if you like Da Capo, the you will like gift as well .
Based on a visual novel by the same company (though Gift was produced under slightly different circumstances), both Gift and Da Capo share similar comedy/romance/harem themes, as well as the underlying ambiance of magic and fantasy, and how it can be used for good or bad. Both shows also cover the infamous "siblings but not REALLY siblings" relationship.
if da capo used sakura tree, gift used rainbow.
And the male protagonist acts like jun'ichi
the female protagonist looks like kotori
The art/animation style of Gift is similar to Da Capo. Circus also has a hand in the production of the visual novels of both titles and therefore the similarity.
Both series are considered harem with the main protagonist dealing with the girls in her life in a school life setting mixed in with supernatural themes.
Both series has elements of romance, drama, comedy, and some emotional moments as well that balances out the story.
Both have a VERY similar story. Someone close to one of the characters dies and before they die, they cast a magic that is supposed to protect and help them. The magic is represented in the form of an everyday thing (Rainbow/Sakura tree). The characters end up having problems with the magic later on in life and so they destroy it.

both really good, some magic(kind of) involved
Story and main character's relationships with other girls are very similar.
There is about something about magic
These two anime are really similar in some ways. The beginning scene of these two anime are almost exactly the same. And the romance part is pretty similar too. Kirino and Kaede are almost the same character. I definitely reccomend Shuffle to anyone who likes Gift ~enternal rainbow~
