Interested in a series that pokes fun regarding roleplaying? These two series have you covered. One series focuses on realism while the other focuses instead on lack of realism, but the jokes individuals who role play will likely get.

Similar amount of "seriously wtf" humor. The two characters in Senyuu are very Hijikata and Sougo like... and so if innocent killing and stabbing of another innocent person amuses you... they are very alike.

Short anime with similar type of random and nonsensical humor where everyone is an idiot and MC acts as tsukkomi. Teekyuu is considerably wackier though.
report Recommended by Kikugi
short, quick moving gag jokes. sarcastic character who acts tough/emotionless actually cares for his friends a lot more than he lets on. neither show takes itself too seriously. Senyuu has more of a plot building up in the background, while Saiki is solely comedic.

There is the theme of an RPG setting present in both series. Rather than anything serious though, it relies more on comedy and parody to present various sequences to the audience. Both the main male protagonists often plays the role of a fool but can be surprisingly reliable at some occasions. Don't expect major story in both series but rather focus on the comedy parts for entertainment.

Both are RPG comedy themed, though Senyuu is a anime short.

Both parody fighting shonen tropes by featuring an apathetic insanely powerful hero. Senyu focuses on JRPGs, whereas OPM focuses on superheroes.

Being a hero looks glamorous but is tough and unrewarding. These comedy shorts parody RPG tropes and cliche.

Both are extremely wacky comical adventures that parody pretty much everything. Both rely on reaction gags of a character exclaiming WTF. Both refuse to follow the laws of physics. The story takes second place to whatever else is happening.

Over-the-top comedies that break the fourth wall...a lot! But despite all the wacky randomness, the underlying main plot has a start and an ending. The journey is the reward here. Senyuu episodes last only a few minutes but Nanbaka follows the regular format. Nanbaka also probably had a better budget.

These two are full-on comedy anime, where the main character is often teased or otherwise abused for laughs by the other characters. While Senyuu takes place entirely in an RPG world, the main characters in Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou share a love for RPGs and will parody it sometimes as well.

More hilarious manzai humor in an RPG-style fantasy world-- what could be better? 😄

Both are very comical, light-hearted shows with very short episode lengths.

Anime episodes for each are around 3-5 minutes long and the plot doesn't take itself too seriously, being under the influence of alcohol also enhanced the viewing of each anime

-Both are shorts anime (<5minutes) - almost entirely comedy based with nothing taken seriously - both have absurd out of the box comedy - Characters are interesting and have unique designs and interactions - both involve fighting monster and save the earth story

Both series have a similar artstyle and references to RPG's and are very self aware. Also have similar jokes and are parodies of the medium.

Short anime with adorable characters. They are a good choice if you are looking for a show to watch in one sitting. They have a combination of badass characters and foolish characters resulting in some hilarious situations.

Same format in 3 minute episodes, ridiculously humorous for both. In Plastic Nee-san its high school girls, In Senyuu its an adventure to seal the demon king? (Its so hilarious I'm not sure what the plot is at this point)

Parodies of the RPG genre are commonplace, but both Senyuu and Last Period are stand-out examples of how to do them right. Neither of them have a major focus on story, instead opting to be entirely gag-focused series. Each show focuses on a different subgenre; Senyuu being a parody of traditional JRPGs and Last Period being a parody of the free-to-play mobile game model known as gacha. They both also poke fun at anime tropes and various other aspects of pop culture.

Parodies of Hero vs Demon Lord stories where the hero is not very heroic (or even strong)

- Protagonists Tsukkomis; - His "companions" are sadists who live irritating somehow the protagonist; - The Secondary characters look very much in appearance as in personality; - History Despite not having an explicit relationship has a lot to do to think somehow; - The Protagonists living with the house number 40 up (this case would be 42 and 45); - Of short duration when either the time or the number of episode.

The context is very different because D-frag take place in a school and Senyuu in a fantasy world but they have the same kind of silly and over the top humor with weird characters and one guy (the protagonist) who don't get what the hell is going on.

"Where have I heard that beginning narration before? Oh yeah, Needless!" Aside from similarities in the intro, these shows also have a sense of humor in common. Needless is like Senyuu with ecchi and full-length episodes.

Both have 5 minute episodes, and both are comedy. They might not seem to similar other than that, but they both have the same feel. You know, that, "WTF am I watching!?" feel.

Although Mahoujin Guru Guru was made a long long time ago, it shares the same RPG type comedy with Senyuu as well as the occasional gags. MGG tend to have slightly more serious moments and episode length is longer too. Both animes are very comedic and would make you laugh on every episode. Its worth giving a try - even though the anime is very dated compared to Senyuu.

Hiro Shimono plays the main roles in both series. One series takes place in a school setting. Our main comedy duo in this series are Seki-kun and Yokoi. Though Seki-kun does not talk but his mastery of killing time is entertaining. Yokoi tries to stop him from disrupting class time but fails. She gets involve with his shenanigans. The other one takes place in a fantasy world. Our comedy pair here are Alba and Ros. Alba gets the short end of the stick and is constantly joked upon XDD. Short episodes filled with comedy and you would laugh constantly. If you love Hiro Shimono's  read more

Short series with absurd gag humour, a very fast pace, and strange fictional animals.

Both shows employ a similar manzai-esque boke/tsukkomi type of humor, although Senyuu's is a bit snappier due to the briefness of it's episodes. Both feature a cast of deeply flawed yet very likable characters. They are both upbeat laugh-out-loud comedy anime of a distinctly Japanese style. The obvious differences between them would be Senyuu's fantasy setting verses Osomatsu-san's real world SOL setting, and Senyuu's plot driven nature verses Osomatsu-san's episodic nature. Still, they both give off a similar feel.

Both shows are over-the-top silly and while one has a character who loves video games, the other IS a video game. The main characters for these series are both the types who get hit and smacked around a lot, while asking, "WHY CAN'T THINGS BE NORMAL?!", with a sidekick who loves to tease and torture them.

The setting might be different but the fact that they are both hilarious shows and are somewhat short anime, DMC being only about 12 minutes and Senyuu, only about 5 minutes, but can leave you laughing up until the end are what makes these show interesting.

the humor is pretty similar also the characters.

Both feature Heros and Demon Kings. Both definitely hilarious except much shorter! Cute art style
report Recommended by Windaura
Very similar type of humour with a MC with a similar personality.

Both series feature hero(es) going after a demon king enemy which unexpectedly happens to be a innocent girl and they begin to develop a relationship.

Both are fantasy series that feature a young aspiring hero that runs afoul of the government. The protagonists friends seem to take pleasure in their suffering, and are often the cause of it. The two protags also both look alike, use similar weapons that they sheath in the same way. The humor in each show was also very similar, and is the main reason I thought they were similar. However, they do have some major differences. For starters, Senyu is a comedy show, and never gets anywhere near as dark as Akame. Akame also focuses on story and character development way more than Senyu, which has  read more
