They are the same because both of the main character lost their parents, and forced to take care of a baby. Because of the baby, they would be having to sacrifice playtime and childhood life.

They aren't similar because of the story, but they are for the background music: Kenji Kawai is the same composer and the splendid music we can listen in "Hime-chan no Ribon" is like that of "Aka-chan to boku".

If you loved Kure-nai because it's story and the baby, you will totally enjoy watching Aka-chan to boku.. Both have a really good actions, have somehow realistic moments and emotional and funny scenes
