If you liked Kanon, then watched Kanon 2006. It's a remake of the original Kanon with much better animation, music, and better storytelling that fleshes out the stories of the secondary characters. It's funnier, it's more memorable, and it'll tug at your heartstrings in ways that the original never could.
If you liked Kanon 2006, then avoid Kanon because watching it will be like watching a terrible summary of the remake.
If you have seen the original Kanon, it is in your best interest to see the 2006 remake. The story only gets better and is explained in much more detail. This DOES NOT work in reverse, however. If you saw Kanon (2006) first, the 2002 version will seem like a crappy summary of what the 2006 version was.
Kanon 2006 is a remake of Kanon. The 2006 version is much better. The music, the way the story is told, the comedy, eveything. Dont watch Kanon if you watched the 2006 version first, because Kanon looks like a cappy summary.
If you really liked Kanon 2006 and can't stop bragging about it, I think you should at least check the 2002 counterpart for the sake of having known and seen it.
While many despise(d) it for its rushed scenario and poor animation, on the emotional side I actually found it to be far superior than Kyoani's work.
Don't forget its existance!
Kanon (2006) have better graphics, more episodes, some parts of the story are better explained... I really loved both versions.

Clannad owes a lot to Kanon, and it's plainly obvious right from the start.
Same base of story 1 man, many girls
Clannad owes much from Kanon.
Really worth watching it :)
Both series have excelent graphics, a cute romance storyline and unexpected (yet captivating) phenomena. Also the episodes' opening story/narration is cool.

Beautiful Story, too much story about characters, beautiful, moe and kawaii characters.
These are both good tearbreakers, both have a very good storyline. :D
When you have watched one ep, your wanting to see the rest as well. ^^

If you enjoyed the drama in fruits basket, you'll love the heart wrenching, tear jerking episodes in Kanon. I saw only the remake - Kanon (2006), shall reserve comment for unwatched original Kanon 2002.

both are harems with a supernatural element and no ecchi plus the main guy isn't as stupid as most harem leads are. so basically they are both one of the few good harem anime
