Probably the CLOSEST to BORDERLINE HENTAI, i have EVER SEEN!
and believe it or not, i did compare the amount of nudity and nipple slip in kiss x sis to this.
Results i got:
comapring all the nippls, panty's,etc.. in kiss x sis, it was 1/3 of the amount of nipples in this OVA.
and comparing the ecchi Levels of kiss x sis to to Love ru Darkness OVA, in 1 OVA that lasted less that 30mins, the was 3 times the amount of ecchi you would see in the kiss x sis franchise all together. and not to mention the situations that arose, were beyond what i thought could be passed as borderline hentai.. i probably cant even call it Borderlined because a Border just is to, welll... it just isnt able to describe how narrow the margin is between hentai and this OVA. i would use this phrase to describe it the border between hentai and this ova was bent back to the point where the it would be hard to prove that it is not hentai but ecchi, i mean i wont spoil anything important but the bathroom scene was pretty out-there.. i would even say the creators had 1 leg over the border at a time in that scene.
but that is my limit to what i am going to expose.
Watch it, if you need any more clarity!
but before i got some advise:
make sure you have these:
Earbud headphones
Parentless/moraless place to watch it in
a mind Open to ridiculous Situation..as is the case with mot if not all the To Love Ru series' read more

*Takes a journey down memory lane*
Uh oh, we're in trouble! or maybe it's just Rito who is in trouble because he once again attempts to confess to his crush but ends up delivering a confession to everyone else instead! Talk about being clumsy but that's Rito to you.
*Flashes back to present time*
To LOVE-Ru Darkness OVA (also known as To LOVE-Ru Trouble Darkness OVA) is a special episode that debuted in hot summer of August consisting of three short episodes featuring Momo, Mikan and Haruna. Unlike the previous OVA or series, Momo takes the main role as well as narration of this special short episode. Eventually though, the three featured characters all play their roles in this episode with mixed results.
And of course, misunderstandings leads to strange and mixed feelings among the group of girls - Momo, Nana, Lala, Haruna, Yui, and even maybe a little of Golden Darkness. But that's just one third of the whole deal. You see, this special episode consists of three separate parts. Count them, not one, two but three.
That means more fun with the girls and Rito with even a little of Mikan in the mix. As a matter of fact, Kana Hanazawa plays her role brilliantly in this special episode as she brings out the shy mannerism with her talent mixed in with some "lust". Rito is in trouble and so is Mikan.
Last but certainly not least is Haruna in the story. She is the girl Rito has been keeping tabs on since day one of the series and those feelings has still been active. Like a cute cat/neko, she remains her cute self especially when she gets cuddled. Later on though, it's not what it seems. Yes Rito, you're once again in trouble.
Overall, it is no surprise that this OVA contains a lot of ecchi, fan-service, and drama. Saki Hasemi (the original creator of To-Love Ru) is known to bring forth cliches, gags, and fan-service in his original series. Additionally, Xebec presents this episode uncensored to fans who despises the censorship of "light, mist, and darkness" that hides the ecchi of the To-Love Ru franchise as much as Yui despises aggressive men. In the second OVA episode, the fan-service shoots off the charts with full uncensored nudity. And of course, that shouldn't be surprising with today's anime industry. The way this OVA episodes presents them was just that typical To Love Ru style.
The sound and art of this special episode remains indifferent. It seems be just there from the beginning till the very end. The ending sequences revisits some of the more memorable scenes of this episode and presents it like a powerpoint presentation. However, it does present some emotional drama especially at the beginning. From there, it turns into "ecchi" music and later comedy. Oh boy Rito, you lucky bastard.
This special episode is by all means not special. It has fan-service, gags, cliches, and very predictable. Rito stars as the main male protagonist in this once again. He is the kid that wants to help others but always ends up doing it in a compromising way. But that's To-Love Ru to you, or rather darkness. Speaking of which, this is perhaps the trailer of the full series. With Momo taking the role of a more active member of the To Love Ru franchise, expect to see more of her as she will be bringing out the "carnivore" out of Rito bringing more trouble.
Trouble is brewing but that's just the beginning. Life is not always so simple after all, especially since living with outer space beings is the last normal thing you can think of out of your normal life...

So Ive been watching a ton of harem/ecchi/romcoms for a while now and I havent been entertained like I was watching To Love Ru or Sora no in a while actually and it makes me happy and sad at the same time to finally see new content from the TLR Franchise. Obviously Im happy that I got to see something but Im sad that I dont get to no life it and just watch this stuff all day like I did for the first couple seasons but I did enjoy the fuck out of this 22 minute OVA and Ill be waiting for the Series and second episode. If you enjoy the series and are up to date with the random bullshit this will make your penis slimy. read more

Oh dear, so what do we have here.........well, what we have here is more like an unaired extension of "To Love Ru 2," even though it is titled "To Love Ru Darkness OVA," and it sure doesn't look like a teaser for the up coming "To Love Ru Darkness TV" what's funny is that it actually titled "To Love Ru 3." As usual this 1st OVA episode still follows the same genre of it the season 2 the only difference were is that this one is more racy that the last season 2. Racy in the sense that the last season is more on boob flashes, panty shots and booty calling. This one has a lot of intense sexual double entendre which includes near frontal exposure and simulated foreplay. So generally speaking there is no story at all to this 1st episode OVA so for the story I'll give it a "Dreadful" number 2 since everything about this thing evolves around the so called sexual double entendre .
As for the art, sound, character, I've given it a "Mediocre" number 5. Since nothing has change at all except for the opening and the closing theme, the character for the most part are still there and as usual Rito still hasn't got the balls to properly confess again to Haruna in the right time and in the right place, but the foreplay between him and her was surly nice (since he doesn't know that she's got turned into a cat).
Enjoyment: Good 7.
Ok, so I'm GUILTY for just enjoying the intense sexual double entendre of this 1st episode OVA, I admit I do find the foreplay as enjoyable, at this point it is safe to assume that the upcoming season 3 and the 2nd OVA will still have the same intense sexual double entendre.
Overall: Poor 3.
Ok, so at this point, it is quite disgusting that this 1st episode OVA doesn't include Yami or better known as "Golden Darkness," as much as I hate to say it- this more like a patsy and should have been included as part of the season 2's episode and it is safe to assume that the 2nd OVA episode should also be included to among the season 3's episodes, I guess this is studio Xebec's poor promotional gimmick. Co'z if the upcoming season 3 is gonna be all about Yami then this 1st OVA episode should have included her in all 3 parts of the episode. Overall if I can a describe this 1st OVA episode in one word it's gonna be "FOREPLAY!" read more
