Anime: Psycho-Pass
Ever get the feeling a character might fit just fine into the canon material of another series? Psycho-Pass and A.D. Police are like that, and yet the similarities between the two shoes end up being - unique. Crossover fodder perhaps only in the mind of a fanfic writer, that feel and enjoyable similarity are something even a fanfic writer won't miss. Plus, Psycho-Pass is likely influenced by A.D. Police.

Anime: Tiger & Bunny
Did A.D. Police influence Tiger & Bunny? Possibly, though truth be told A.D. Police influenced many sci-fi apocalyptic series which have come out of Japan. Tiger & Bunny takes the old, and places an interesting twist, but A.D. Police allows viewers to see where the genre in regards to Anime has been.

Anime: Strait Jacket
Strait Jacket and Advanced Police have similar plots dealing with special units killing evil -disgusting creature things that like to rip people apart. Both share a dark atmosphere where also no matter what the good guys do, someone will get hurt. Also the end result of a couple characters is very similar. Strait Jacket is more gory and Advanced Police is ever so slightly more hopeful.

Anime: Appleseed
Both series are about a futuristic police force where robots play a role. They are not the same by any means, but they are of a similar enough style that if you like one, you will probably like the other.

Anime: Waga Seishun no Arcadia
The underbelly of society is dark, but society advancing to the next level won’t change this. Sometimes, it will make it come out even more, leading to dark times for the heroes and those around them.

Anime: Ginga Tetsudou 999 (Movie)
Fighting the other—an other that happens to not be human, or not human anymore, that wants to take over the daily lives and improve human life as they see human life should be improved. Both series delve into this, as well as the cost of such improvements. And while they are different settings, they do cover the topic nicely.

Anime: Iron Man
The series involve mecha/robots and crime. The styles are similar despite the time gap between when they were made and the fights are reminiscent of each other. There is a similar feel.
