SynopsisSome people suddenly find religion, but for 16-year-old Kusanagi GoDo, it's that REALLY old time religion that's found him! As the result of defeating the God of War in mortal combat, GoDo's stuck with the unwanted position of Campione!, or God Slayer, whose duty is to fight Herectical Gods whenever they try to muscle in on the local turf. Not only is this likely to make GoDo roadkill on the Highway to Heaven, it's also a job that comes with a lot of other problems. Like how to deal with the fact that his "enhanced status" is attracting a bevy of overly-worshippy female followers. After all, they're just there to aid him in his demi-godly duties, right? So why is it that their leader, the demonically manipulative sword-mistress Erica Brandelli, seems to have such a devilish interest in encouraging some VERY unorthodox activities?

Kusanagi Godo is a 16-year-old high school boy, who accidentally killed the god "Verethragna", absorbed his power and became Campione, god slayer. Now he gets involved in battles against other Campiones and another uncontrollable gods....
Story of this anime is incredibly rushed to the point I was able to notice it despite the fact I never read the novel they are trying to adapt. For example, in the beginning of the second episode, it made to ask myself "Did I just missed one episode?". Come on, if you try to make anime adaptation out of the novel or manga, I can't blame anyone for missing few things here and there. But if you miss out so many things so even someone like me will notice, then something went seriously wrong with your writing! Or maybe authors knew there won't be second season so they tried to pack as much as possible to a single one?
I will however still rate story as "fair" since despite crazy pace it was felt this originally has some story to speak about and during the course of the series I became somewhat accustomed to fact there are (and will be) a time leaps.
As for the characters, any development probably fell victim to the horrible story-rush, so I am not sure if I can judge them properly. But they are nicely drawn, with distinctive personalities, overly likable and not annoying:
Kusanagi Godou is not a pathetic wimp as main leads of similar series, but not over-confident and it is felt character actually undergo some little development. However little more confidence won't hurt, he is a God Slayer, after all.
His female harem (yes, this is a harem show. And since lead male is a God Slayer, I feel he even deserves one) there are four femaler characters, each one different from another. Cunning and over-confident Erica is exact opposite to show shy and cute Yuri, while Liliana stands somewhere in the middle. And I think they are actually quite likable. As for fourth girl, Ena was introduced last and didn't got much space, so hard to tell.
My most favorite character is Athena, rogue goddess, who started as a main antagonist, then became somewhat puzzling character and ended as someone who actually helps Godou from time to time yet with unclear motives: she either likes him or just wants to insure she and Godou will be last ones standing for last epic battle. This makes her most developed character in entire show. And since she is portrayed as cute loli most of the time, I guess there is something bad not only with the story but also with my sexuality. OK, forget the last part, that was awkward.
And here we go, enjoyment and overall ratting.
It will be difficult I guess, especially after I criticized the story, but I have to admit, I was able to actually enjoy the show enough to call it good. Or at least good enough, so here's go 7/10. I would even say it's a pity it won't get a second season, this had potential and all things done wrong could've been fixed.

Having read the Light Novel,I have to say this anime is quite rushed in the storyline. Eventhough it ended in Ena's arc they could easily made it 20+ episodes if they put more details in the anime
Story-7
Great plot.It was definitely nice to watch,I could easily give this a 9 but because they ignored too many little details I have to give it a 7. I mean Ena's battle with Erica prior Godou's meeting with Ena is not in the anime.
Art-9
The art is nice,It was to my liking.I love anime with this kind of art.It is free flowing and theres not much I can say about it
Sound-9
The sound is great. The ques for the music always fits the mood and the battles scenes have interesting sounds(especially the Golden Sword)
Character-9
All the characters are great. They put in effort to introduce everyone and although Im kinda pissed off by Godou taking Liliana-because I like her as well, but its in the story so Its a trivial matter- but other than that, everyone was developed well in the story and I really got to know them all.
Enjoyment-7
Well,I gave this a 7 because the anime left out the details that I really want animated and they kinda twisted the storyline a bit but it didn't stray from the LN so,Im satisfied with that.
Overall-8
I won't say I hate it because I rather enjoyed the whole anime. It is one of the animes that fit my likings although the story was terribly rushed. read more

Similarities:
Magic
Ecchi
Harem with interesting plot
-Both based on a light novel
-Harem genre but still with a very good plot
-Strong male and female lead
-Similar magic
-Ecchi
-Similar art styles
-Both very good series
Both series are considered harem with the main protagonists involved with various girls after a destiny encounter.
Both series contain ecchi, fan-service, drama, comedy, romance, and magic/supernatural themes.
Both series' main female protagonist are also quite fond of the main protagonist after their initial meeting.
In both:
-Main girl is not just normal girl.
-Main guy has the special powers.
-No censorship on the chest and pants.
-Similar art.
Both Main Characters are innocent ppl and get sucked in to a new way of life, is what you could call it
Main Characters get new Powers and grow from the standard weak to stronger except Highschool DxD's character is more "pathetic"
Both Animes get surrounded by girls
Spoiler Alert!: Both Main Characters become HEROs (is my way of putting it)
Campione fights against gods, highschool dxd fights against vampires and such. What is there not to love about both of them? highschool has alot more lewdness but still great all around. Camptione! has a crap ton of action with alot of cool babes!
If you liked highschool DxD, you must like Campione too.
similar is the guy, who is surrounded by beautiful girls
The Guy also posseses Great powers just like highschool
Girls, magic, and actually a nice plot to go with them.

Campione is basically a less Graphic Fate clone.
Erica = Blonde Rin
Liliana = Saber
Could even stretch it that Yuri has some common traits of Sakura.
Godou's main power, is basically Gilgamesh mode.
That's without all the mages and gods and so on.
- Harem
- Main heroine is a blonde European sword expert
- Unlimited Blade Works (or something kinda like it for Campione)
- Takes place in modern Japan
- Lots of battles
- "Nice Guy" main character who's very merciful and has powers gained from the heroine
- Villain who control the behind-the-scenes action
- Overkill attacks that couldn't kill someone
-Similiar Art Style
-A Battle Of The Fittest
-Gods, Dietys, and Servents
- Unlimited Blade Works Vs Golden Sword
When seeing this anime, most would tend to think; Is that suppose to be Gilgamesh? If one saw Fate/Stay Night before hand. Although Campione! is more of a Comedy action while Fate/Stay Night is an action thriller; both series are enjoyable.
