Hajime no Ippo: Boxer no Kobushi

In this episode, which is special to me, we see the story of Takamura, the fighter who was able to keep the boxing gym alive, his beginnings and how all this began so that Ippo could fight in that same place. It is a fairly simple episode but effective in what is narrated, it may not be the most interesting story in the world but everything that shows what Takamura did is quite entertaining, he was not a person who was advancing little by little like Ippo but rather had talent but he did not apply it in the best way, we know from the ... main series that Takamura is one of the fighters with a gift from birth and this episode shows it, in the end I will say that it is a fulfilling episode as well as entertaining.

En este episodio que para mí es un especial vemos la historia de Takamura el luchador que pudo hacer que subsistiera el gimnasio de boxeo, sus inicios y como empezó todo esto para que Ippo pudiera luchar en ese mismo lugar. Es un episodio bastante simple pero efectivo en lo narrado, puede que no sea la historia más interesante del mundo pero todo lo que demuestra lo que hizo Takamura es bastante entretenido, no fue una persona que fue avanzando de poco a poco como Ippo sino que tenía el talento pero no lo aplicaba de la mejor manera, sabemos desde la serie principal que Takamura es uno de los luchadores con un don de nacimiento y este episodio lo demuestra, al final diré que es un episodio cumplidor además de entretenido.

This ova tells us on how Takamura got into boxing the first place.

Solid story with funny atmosphere and decent dialogue and shows how Takamura develops over time. The characters are decent. We are introduced to the beginning relations between Kamogawa and Takamura which was great. Most of the other characters get very few lines and screentime except for maybe Yagi. The visuals have definitely improved and there was an obvious difference, such as the crispier details and nicer animation. The music is pretty much the same from the original, with similiar uses of symphonies and intstruments

A likable OVA and a recommened watch. Nothing bad or ... flawed about this ova and was well done.

Overall, I think this was a perfect OVA and I can recommend this to every Hajime no Ippo fan out there. Really, there is nothing bad about this, except one thing: I wish they would have told us something about Takamura and his relationship towards Miyata-kun, since he left really early in the anime and we couldn't see how they felt towards each other, although this isn't really necessary I guess. In my opinion it's a 8/10, because I just ... don't feel like this is a "masterpiece".
