Before I start, let me say one thing. If you don't like boobs, ass and nudity, then Highschool DxD is definitely not an anime for you! I'm sorry, but I find it funny whenever people watch an anime with "ECCHI" listed as the genre would bitch, moan and complain about the fan service. If you don't like ecchi simply because boobs and ass scares you then 1.) You can avoid it and just don't watch it altogether 2.) You can give it a chance but if you still don't like it, then by all means drop it.
Personally, I really enjoyed the series for what it is so far. If one can actually overlook the fan service, which is tame compared to a lot of ecchi anime I've seen out there (I know because I love ecchi anime. If you got a problem with me liking ecchi - SUCK IT! We're all entitled to our preferences and tastes!), it does have an interesting story and a solid plot for an ecchi anime much like Sora no Otoshimono for an example. The art, animation and sound quality are great in my opinion.
Even if you're not that much of an ecchi fan, I do think it deserves to be given a chance and for anyone who like anime with the elements of comedy, ecchi, harem and supernatural genres, then I recommend you to check this series out. Peace. read more

Sex, lewd thoughts, and imaginations. Here's an interesting little trivia: Did you know that the average man in our world today think about sex nearly every 56 seconds? Fact or fiction, you decide. Of course, this is all normal. I mean, our minds is filled with all sorts of imaginations and dreams whether it'd be finding the perfect girlfriend or going on your first dream date. In this anime known as the High School DxD, our protagonist Hyudo Iseei goes from a lecherous second-year high school student attending Kuoh Academy to someone he hasn't began to imagine before.
At first glance, the title High School DxD doesn't really stand out much. The first two words “high school” is probably a place most of us made good (or bad memories) in our lives. Of course, Issei hopes to make good memories because the school has recently turned into co-ed from a former girls-only school. And where else would a healthy boy at his puberty stage wants to make most of it? High school of course. But not all is easy as he is known to be creepy at the academy. With few “real” friends, the chances of making his goal of high school memories is becoming slim.
That of course later changes when the unthinkable happens and he is killed by his very first girlfriend. Talk about bad luck, I can only think of one person off my head right now with the Imagine Breaker with that sort of luck. But is this really bad luck? Because the most beautiful and respected character of the school and series takes attention of him...
First, we have the beautiful Rias Gremory. She is someone everyone admires and lusts about. She is the president of the Occult Club. And she is of course, the main heroine as well as one of the reasons some of us are watching this series for the lulz. She takes a curious interest in our protagonist Issei after the incident but what really makes her unique is her definite character. Behind her outer shell is a girl who takes responsibility and does what she does best: helping others. These traits seem to pass onto Issei for despite his creepiness around the academy, he is known to be helpful and hardworking.
Then, we have some of the other characters. The sadistic Akeno who is also admired among the academy. Playful and flirtatious, she plays the role of the one-sama whom a lot of us wants to be “treated” by her. Then, we have our mascot, the all adorable loli Koneko-chan. Behind that cute loli apperance lies a girl of power and valor who puts her own life at risk to help others. Next, we have Asia-san, the pure girl that reflects the innocence of the series after all the lewd story arcs and peerage. Finally, we have Kiba who serves as the antithesis of Issei, whom he despises to no end. And of course, all these characters of the Occult Club are the bridge to Issei's path of becoming someone who he never thought he'd be.
By this point, some of you reading this review are probably thinking “god damn it, not another harem” or “fan-service...what else is new?” And of course, I agree there. Fan-service is nothing new but a device used to attract viewers. So, if you can't take the boobs, ass, and nudity, then feel free to watch another series. If you have a serious issue with the uncensored scenes and fan-service, then just drop the damn series as no one is forcing you to watch. However, if you can take it like a true anime fan, then kudos to you as you will be proud once you complete perhaps the ecchiest (if that's even a word) series of this year 2012.
The art of this series is just meh for me. I didn't take much notice of it as most people are probably paying attention more to the action and fan-service than art when watching this. I don't blame you, I mean who could take their eyes off one second of that million dollar body of Rias Gremory? :) Then, of course, the sound. I do admit that it does mixes in well especially in later episodes where the seriousness conveys the more dramatic visage of the story. It's not as powerful as Yuki Kajiura's soundtracks from Mai-Hime or Tsubusa Chronicles but still all in all, it does fit well once you listen to it carefully.
Despite being labelled as a ecchi and even harem on MAL, this series does have a storyline. Yes, can you believe it? An actual ecchi anime with a decent storyline! As such in series like this, you can expect the master and slave relationship. One catch though. This time, the girl is the master. Some of the viewers watching this may now think about the typical “master/slave” fantasies or “king's game” from your heads now. However, behind the scenes of the fan-service and nudity lies a story where a young boy goes from zero to hero. The storyline gets deeper in the light novels but the anime isn't all too shabby. It starts off as a predictable opening, goes to a more emotional setting, and then goes out with a bang. A literal bang thanks to what Issei learns and became throughout the series.
So, you're probably asking yourself now: “should I watch this?” Honestly, that's an ambigious question. When God gave us brains, we all have different views on everything like anime, manga, life, appearances, etc. However, if you just watched the trailer or first 5 mins of the series and decided to hit that drop button, then I feel really sorry for you. Why? Because this series is more than just about ecchi and fan-service. It has potential. It has emotion. It has drama. It has interest.
If you have serious problems with watching this anime, then maybe think about your High School memories. I bet Issei's virginity that the memories of your High School years won't be that much better than this series. (well, at least for me) read more

Every once in a while an anime comes around that is so well done you have an eyegasm after every episode, simply put a masterpiece......
yeah, this isn't really that anime.
From personal observations I've noticed that people who can't stand fanservice shoot down an anime because of fanservice. I find them to be more annoying and painful than bamboo splinters under my fingernails. I dont really understand why they keep watching, if thats the type of anime they hate with a passion, then why? Are they masochists? Are they closet pervs who just don't want to admit it? The fact of the matter is that if you're against it this anime isn't for you, no need to keep reading. If you don't like ecchi, dont watch it!
Now onto the actual review.
The Bad
-the main issue with harems is the character development, this be no exception. The main character is the stereotypical average student with a now common "want to protect" mindset. I didn't really see much character development, however I, from my view point, did see some (I mentioning feel explaining would spoil) but I can't truly knock it down too much, unlike if it was to be a series with much more time in which i would have been pissed.
-I found the plot to be nothing really special and has a set up that I feel I've seen before.
-The plot did have its holes and unanswered questions by the end, with only a temporary resolution yet its not that big of an issue because they were things that could easily be answered in the second season, unless they explain fuck all in the next season, at which time i will pray the director's crab's get herpies.
-The setting, you guest it, a highschool, i need not go on.
-The animation was really nothing exceptional there is very much a lack of eyegasm in this sense as nothing really pops out at you except boobs and someone's boner if not your own.
-The music didn't leave ear bleeding, but was only slightly above good.
-I will say it. At times, the ecchi does get very excessive however I don't qualify that as an excuse to throw this in the crap pile, its not really that unbearable.
The good
-to redeem the setting itself, it did have some diversity because even though the title of the anime is high school dxd, i found the situations to have nearly nothing to do with high school. There is the clubhouse but they normally just meet and move elsewhere from there. I just found it to be more of a building/base than an average school.
-The comedy (probably a bit bias here) was the type I find funny, I am very much the type to appreciate a sexual joke, don't give a dam if Im called a perv at least I dont hide it, but there are some other mixed in.
-Idk if accel world made me realize this but I did notice that the chicks in this anime don't just magically fall in love with him left and right, which I find to be preferable. The ones that do fall for him are ones that have a reason to after some connection between them and it doesnt happen with every fucking girl.
-There were some action scenes that coming into the fight gave me chills and that "shits about to go down" feeling we all love.
The unexplainable
From everything gathered it would be guessed that this is just a regular anime with not much to offer as with average animation, sound, plot, ext. However, the fact of the matter is this anime is on my favorites list to this day. Why? its obvious I'm aware of its flaws, then why? truthfully I can't explain it.
Looking at it from a reviewer's perspective this is just an average anime.
Yet, looking at it from an average viewer who values enjoyment value above all else, I truly loved it. Idk maybe its just im more indecisive than Romney, but I found it to be enjoyable as fuck. This anime just has that "guilty pleasure" feel. Its the kind of weird shit that if people were to come into my room I would switch to porn, because that is just so much easier to explain. So many people I know bash its flaws, yet can't wait for a second season. I went through this shit in a siting and was glad I did.
The verdict
Overall I give this anime a rating of guilty pleasure that through its flaws is just inexplicably addictive.
I recommend (unless ur allergic to boobs and ass and life) read more

Personally I loved this show, I honesty dont care much for the echi in the show but to let others know if you dont like it at all, avoid this show. If you do like it your in for a treat. Now if you want to watch it for its interesting story and humor its very good in my opionion.
Story:8
Based off a series of novels this anime follows it closely. Its your normal highschool boy struggling to gain power throughout the anime and is feared for the power he may one day posess, with your typical harem mixed in with it. But what i find interesting in the story is the christain's church's staning in it, i loved how the anime talks about fallen angels, angels and demons are battling each other (or once did).
Art:7
I want to say the art is better than a 7, but i just cant. there were quite a few instances where they could have worked with the coloring and even the backgrounds a bit more or add certain details in some of the combat. but overall it was good so there i nothing really to bash on it about.
Sound:7
The sound was good, the sound effects were spot on but could have been chosen better at certain times again. the songs wer decent nothing really got me all hyped about so all in all, it was good.
Character:8
Every character was different which was nice. dont get me wrong they over exagerated certain aspects of the characters but that is its humor in the anime so i dont see a fault in it at all. such as the perverted teenager is exagerated beyond words but, its humorous in the situations it puts him in. Now with the 12 episodes of going through certain character's backgrounds it did very well. Now if they get a second season and stick with the novels it will soon tell the story of every person in the group and explains why each one was chosen by Rias (the master devil of the group) and why they hold grudges to certain groups.
Enjoyment:9
I really enjoyed it but this may be a little biased due to reading the books and getting really pumped for the show. But if you dont mind all the perverted scenes go ahead and watch this, its funny, puts the viewer in a good mood (most of the time), and has a decent story which is easy to follow.
Overall:8
Overall it was very nice. It may have some bad moments throughout the anime but overall it kept me either laughing, or on the edge of my seat waiting for more every week. And i hope whoever watchis this anime will enjoy it as much as i have. read more

Highschool DxD is raw, shameless and an extremely brilliant addition to the Ecchi/Harem genre. The tropes are missing! The cliches are obliterated! Prepare your mind for a perverted mental assault the likes of which I've not seen since MM!
For an Ecchi harem, it has a very interesting story and that's one of the primary reasons I gave it a high grade in this area, it doesn't stack up very well compared to other genres but for what it is, it is extremely entertaining. It has fun with itself and the author seems to be having a lot of fun writing it. They've setup an interesting shounen-style premise with an interesting cast of characters and backgrounds that play off of each other nicely.
There are entire worlds left unexplored in the first season and if you've read the light novels you'd know there's plenty of things left in this universe. The world is massive, the characters are endless and I don't think there's ever a moment when I was bored. One of the best things about DxD is it's ability to completely lose it's mind, as seen in one of the first episodes where a devil is depicted as shooting lasers out of her funbags. The level of comedy in this show is pretty great too and there's plenty to laugh at both now, and in the future when another season arrives.
All that said, the level of fanservice is infinity level so those who are annoyed by it, you'll just have to stay away. It's rampant, there's bare-chested nudity and a lot of it. This doesn't bug me much at all and I've honestly ignored the whole thing and genuinely enjoy the story.
The animation quality is pretty good, better than other of it's genre but sadly it doesn't stack up quite as well against other big name titles. I am convinced it has some of the best animation the ecchi/harem/comedy department will ever see but it doesn't stack up so well against it's epic shounen adventure counterparts.
The battle scenes are fairly well animated but it seems like they've saved some of the budget there to expand on uhm, other fronts if you catch my drift. Many of the ecchi scenes are animated to professional quality while the battle scenes left more to be desired. Don't get me wrong, the battle scenes aren't bad but the fact that you can clearly see more attention to detail in the character's chest areas compared to critical battles is something that should be pointed out.
As for Sound, The characters are voiced well, nothing seems particularly out of place; The OP for DxD is sort of generic but the music isn't that bad. The ED I'm convinced is one of the best this season (and not just for the epic fanservice), the song is incredibly catchy and fits the series well in both the fun and lyrics department. Not much to say about the sound really, everything fits like it should but there's nothing exceptionally spectacular about it.
The characters are a big part of the story and I've already voiced my opinion on them but I'll try to get a little more specific. Kiba, probably the weakest character of the bunch is Issei's rival yet is one of the few of the group who treats Issei with any amount of respect - not much to say about him, his development would be in the second season (Light novels 3-4) but as it stands he's a pretty weak and undeveloped character.
Akeno is an S&M freak who likes torturing enemies and of course, is sexy. Koneko is a stoic cat lady who constantly calls Issei out for being a gigantic pervert.
Ashia is the resident pure maiden who's being influenced by Rias' perverted devil ways, she lusts for Issei and yet doesn't know enough about relations between man and woman to do much about it. Rias is burdened by her family name and is in an arranged marriage situation, falls in love with our resident pervert when he saves her from that fate.
Then there's Issei, our main character. He's a pervert, he ends up in funny situations and rubs his sexual exploits in his friends' faces. He wants to touch any and all sexual parts of the opposite sex. He's awesome in that he ends up getting a harem which he's totally unaware of because he doesn't believe women can be genuinely interested in him, when they all eventually fall victim to his pure hearted pervert ways. This all sounds pretty bland and natural for the genre, but they all come together quite beautifully (no pun intended) and it ends up being a laugh riot. There's no typical harem cockblocking or shenanigans here. The enemies are generally all generic except the bosses, but are interesting enough to make you wonder.
IN CONCLUSION
Let's be honest, DxD isn't going to be winning any awards but it's entertaining as all hell. It's completely insane, shameless and interesting. I've not had this much fun watching an anime in a while. The fun factor is in it's ability to tell an interesting story and it's comedy, there's also some mighty powerful fanservice for those interested in that. (yes, they have bare uncensored breasts, let's shoehorn that in right now) You'll have a good time watching this anime if you can judge the anime based on it's merits in this genre over the level of fan service. Yes, if you hate fan service, you will be annoyed to the maximum extent but otherwise, it's really very fun. I suggest picking it up and waiting for a second season, it's been ranked pretty high in the preorders and sales department and it's sure to have another season (or two, hopefully). It's not the best anime this season but it's certainly not even close to the worst. Give it a shot. read more

Being a massive fan of the DxD series, I absolutely loved the anime adaptation. Anyone who has read the light novels would realise just how much emotional depth all the characters go through, especially Issei (the main protagonist) who I can only say had a VERY traumatic first girlfriend experience. High School DxD has a new take to a harem story, the author guaranteed a happy ending for all the girls and the plot is getting results that show it unlike other harem stories which can just end up a pain in the neck as the main protagonist is unable to choose.
First of all, you can immediately see the amazing art of the anime which can live up / match on par to the beautiful character designs that Miyama-Zero created. This of course closely ties into the effects used in the animation which were pretty much spot on to how i imagined them to be, especially in the battle scenes.
You hear a lot of people complain about this series being "too ecchi" and put you off from watching but you'll just be missing out. This series was made with ecchi in mind but not to the degree of other series such as To Love Ru or Sekirei; they're pretty much several times worse in terms of ecchi level. However, I will say that the anime did add more fanservice and nude scenes than the original novel which many may think as a way to get views and sales. I myself am glad they did, not because there's more ecchi scenes to see but because it increases the chances of another season. The reason why im hoping for more of the anime is because the best parts of the story are towards to latter half of the light novel volumes and I would like to see it animated. The extra fanservice was doen in good taste and suited the pace of the story so it can be overlooked.
This might be seen as hateful to do but the fact is that it wasnt done in a hateful manner; they didnt censor the all the scenes like the Majikoi anime where it pretty much forces you to buy the uncensored DVD / Blu-Ray releases.
For anyone who thinks that there is little character development, I can now inform you that a second season is going into production and I guarantee that you wont be disappointed with the new characters that are going to appear. Every character has a part of themselves that is kept hidden past but the troubles are overcome through the friendship and relationship amongst the group.
*Small spoiler* For the more battle loving fans, Issei's predetermined external rival will arrive soon
Although there were some unnecessary parts included to buff out the anime, namely by including some of the short stories, the anime remained rather faithful towards the original story. In reality, it would have been better if they spent more time on the main plot to include more details and make the short stories into OVAs.
Of course, they didnt miss out some infamous lines where the most memorable one appears in episode 12 of the anime. It would have been preposterous for them to have missed out that one.
I know that this review may have strayed from just talking about this season of this anime and I apologise for that however, I needed to bring in other factors in hope that all you out there give this a shot and persuade you to watch it as the foundation to the greatness that is to follow. Reviewing DxD in such constricted context does not bring it justice.
On a final note, don't watch this with females unless you know they're alright with an ecchi series...They're only going to get jealous with the beautiful female characters read more

Let's all agree that this is definitely for the people who don't mind nudity here and there. If you can put up with the nudity, or you're a pervert like me, then you will easily succumb to the plot and epicness of this anime. The plot, art and character development easily fit this anime into my top 10. The first few episodes are slow and you may get annoyed with the main character, but it all comes together as one of the most epic anime of 2012 and all of history!

Highschool DxD...Well what can i say..An Ecchi/harem paradise? The answer to that, is hell yeah! Issei (main character) is without doubt one of the perviest/ecchi-mad/booby-loving characters i have ever seen! For all you ecchi lovers out there, this is the anime for you :) Big busted girls, with bodies to die for, some loli's thrown in, with a dash of shounen, and a slice of comedy, this makes for a hell of an anime. It also throws in a decent story line, coupled with some nice art and character development. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about this anime. However i think the first season pales in comparison to what the next seasons have in store. I would say the first season is more like an introduction to the story, believe me this anime has a lot more to give.
All in all a very good storyline, even though the anime hasn't progressed very far at the moment. Especially in comparison to the light novel. All i can say is that this anime has great potential. The first season is just a stepping stone in my opinion. It's just a little slice of whats to come. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a good ecchi harem anime. Although the ecchi is quite predominant which may tend to scare a few people off, so if you dont like ecchi or harem i would probably say this isn't for you. Everyone should still give it a chance though, as i'd recommend it for anyone to watch. (Rating: 80%-85%)

(.y.) is all this anime gives.
But therefor it isn't uninteresting.
Story:
If you like fan service and I mean fan service of the highest level for each of the 12 episodes? Than this anime is the right one for you. The story is simple and actually the anime has 2 parts. One part is about a fight against fallen angels, and the other is about preventing a marriage.
The second part is much better than the first part so be sure to watch it till episode 12. But you don't need to worry each episode gives us plenty of funny moments and hardcore action. Ow and yea we see like boobs flying around in every scene. At some point we get so much fan service that the anime begins to feel like a hentai rather than a anime. But luckily they pick up the story right after these episodes and the story develops itself to a nice plot and a epic last fight were no boobs are shown!!! No boobs? It's funny how the entire anime and all it's fights and moments constantly give us boobs and other fan service. But that the last and final fight is between two guys.
Ah well the anime was epic, funny and nice enough to enjoy.
Characters:
Our main character is a really horny kid who dies and becomes a devil. He does nothing else than spot for naked chicks he feels no shame what so ever. And he never grows up. But hey if you want a ecchi anime don't complain about the fan service. And who can really blame the guy I mean he is surrounded by females who are constantly naked and even when he fights most of the girls lose their outfits. I think every man would go insane.
The other characters are mostly hot to watch. We see each of them having a special ability compared to chess pieces. Well we have the queen, a hot chick that is incredibly strong witch has a huge chest and enjoys the suffering of people. We have the rook ah little girl witch doesn't speak much and shows hardly any emotion but can break trough any obstacle. We have the bishop a cute girl who can do healing (although her voice sometimes annoyed me she was still a nice addition). The knight witch is a boy who is very fast with his weapon and I have to say the fight between the knights was truly epic I loved how fast they made the fight look simply amazing. And last but not least we have the king, the king is a beautiful woman who is the leader of the clan and who is incredibly powerful. She looks amazing and is most of the time naked.
Verdict:
Basically the anime comes down to two plots who aren't that special but non the least epic. We see woman get naked or see their clothes torn apart like every episode. Every fight results in fan service so if you don't like that don't watch it. Although the fights are still epic and amazing and the fan service always results to something funny so if you want to laugh this anime is perfect.
All I can say, hey if you like hot angels hot demons epic fights brilliant tactics and lots of humor ow and let's not forget lots of fan service than this anime is the perfect anime to fit those conditions. Overall I liked the anime very much, it sometimes goes over the line of what is acceptable for my taste but the whole anime was fun to watch. And I can't wait for season two to arrive. Hope you enjoy this anime.
Cheers Lucid read more

just to be straight forward here.... i saw the picture of this anime and just happens to watch it for... stuff.... , and it just so happens there's alot.. so those of you who think you're "not a pervert" and don't like nudity don't watch it ....
but as i watch this i realize that the story is better than i though it would be. so in conclusion, everyone that think that anime with harem, or ecchi in it are not good, will that's wrong, cuz this animei combine the fan service really good when the moment comes.
if you don't like nudity in any way just please ignore this anime.... i really hope highschool DxD could be more.. popular but those who just watch the first episode and quit, then give it a bad rate are just disgrace...
just watch it all the way guys/gals and then rate it when you're finished this anime is much better than any ecchi, fanservice anime i watched so far so i really hope there'll be a second season read more

Ass to boob ratio is high with this one, so if your under 18, I suggest locking your door, putting on a headset so the sound doesn't make it sound like your listening to porn, that's if your mother or father cares enough to check on ya! In a simple word, this anime is PERVERTED! Tits are a commonplace and norms thrown out the window! Devils, angels, fallen angels, and other people, most being big breasted chicks to boot! However it stands as one of the few ecchi animes that have a decent plot, although you'll have to wait till the 3rd episode to find out! I had abandoned this anime for better ones but found out that it was good after all, and man did I regret that! The ending is one big adrenaline rush! Almost like a knight in shining armor type of feel.
In this anime the main character, Issei, a perverted, happy go lucky guy, who gets away with almost hundreds of lecherous acts, but somehow is able to get out of them. One day while he and his friends are talking underneath the window of the Occult Studies Clubhouse, the main heroine, Rias Gremory, opens the window and looks into the surrounding area, and eventually settles her eyes on Issei, who is captivated by her beauty. He then is asked out by a girl, who in the end, after a lovely date, turns into a fallen angel and kills him. He is later revived as a devil by Rias and finds out that she is a devil as well, although being a pure-blooded one. He also finds out that he is a wielder of the one of the first True Longinus: Boosted Gear, which gives the wielder the ability to destroy even a god for 10 seconds.
The anime continues with how he adapts to his new lifestyle and his ability to better himself with the Boosted Gear, he even vows to become a harem king. The Specials are nothing but fan-service, so unless you want a hard-on or something, I suggest not watching them or even counting them as a part of the storyline.
My last comment on this anime is that the plot is decent, the art is good but perverse (no complaints really), sound is good. the characters are enjoyable, and enjoyment is very good. My overall grade for this anime is 9/10 read more

This is one of the best anime I have watched till now. This interests people because of many genres things it involves. It involves Action, Fantasy, Harem, Romantic comedy, and Supernatural in the genre. It is one of those Anime that involves all of those to the fullest. The story line is set up in a good way to make the audience more engaged. There are many anime like this but this has a different taste to it. It is really fun to watch. After watching the first episode, I was so addicted that I read the manga immediately and also re-watched the series couple of times. I don't want to spoil the anime but its one of the BEST! I wish for it to come back with a second season! read more

In search of an enjoyable anime featuring hot girls, demons, a cleaver plot and tons of comedy? Search no further: this is the anime for you!
Possibly the best anime of the season with the best girl: Rias.
Issei is a total badass and should never be underestimated. His perverted attitude is but a shell to his inner kind side. Issei is a guy that never will let any girl cry and punish those who take advantage of him or his harem. A total bro.
A must watch for 2012.
The opening and ending are very good and catchy. Hypnobut.
10/10 so you will watch it.

First of all, what i don't get is why would someone complain about ecchi, i don't get it, it makes no sense, of all the things one could complain about, it has to be ecchi?
Well my friend, let me tell you, half, if not, the majority of people who watch this anime are watching it solely for the fanservice, it's called "Fan service" for a reason, but really, why would the developers bother putting fanservice in an anime if people didn't like it? just these past 3 months more than 5 ecchi animes were aired, so stop being a lil phag and grow up, as a fellow human, i don't see why would you complain about it? it just makes things more entertaining.
Now for the anime, i personally haven't watched it yet, but it looks quite interesting, and i'd be rather disappointed if it ended at 12 episodes, the plot, the characters, the ecchi, everything looks exciting, so for all of you Action/Ecchi/Harem/Romance/Fantasy fans, this is the anime for you. read more

Okay...1 thing you need to know before you watch this anime... If you are a girl, please do not watch this... This anime will make you think that all guys in this world is a pervert and a scum for watching this anime...
If there is 1 thing I found out when I was watching this anime is that you don't watch this for the story... 1 thing, there is no twist to the plot or a really decent story...It is direct and the main focus is the art...NO...Specifically, the main focus of this anime is the DxD... If you still do not understand what I am trying to say, I will say it clear and frank... You watch this anime for the massive TITS that look like it could weigh a 100 people...If you say you watch this anime for the story,I will tell you the reason why i think you are a retard...There are pretty good parts here and there but.... There is no actual plot to the story... Its all about the DxD....yes, those massive things...If you still believe you watch this anime for the story please refer to the spoiler below...
*---------------------------------Spolier--------------------------------*
In the novel, Rias shoots a beam of crimson light from her breast and regenerates Issei with power....What a great story....

The characterization and the plot was very well developed.
I also very much enjoyed the abundant fan service, in which girls would constantly end up naked one way or the other!
Very humorous, enjoyable, and best of all: a lot of cute, sexy girls!!
I definitely recommend this for all the ecchi and fantasy fans out there.
Plot: A normal perverted highschool guy is killed by his first boobalicious girlfriend, who happens to be a "fallen angel". He is then reborn as a devil by another sexy red-haired girl, who trains him along with the rest of her team of devils. The guy develops his powers while enjoying the company of many sexy devils around him. read more

Okay, if you like action, supernatural, romance, and tits, this show is made for you. It has an entertaining plot with a nice ending. The characters are drawn extremely well and the fight scenes are played out with attention to detail. There are not many anime's that I actually sit through the opening and the ending songs because I don't have the time. However, for this anime, I gladly watched both the opening and ending songs because they are just that good (especially the ending song). Every character is unique and you can really feel like you're in their situation and relate to their emotions. Mostly for the fight scenes, the romance, and the tits and ass, I thoroughly enjoyed this show and I am looking forward to season 2. Trust me, if you like the genre, give the show a shot and you won't regret it. read more

Oh highschool dxd, you were so steriotypical but oh so funny and entertaining, I mean have you ever watched a show that made chess look bad ass, when I suggested the anime to my friend he asked what it was about I told him its about a guy who becomes a demon and who's main goal in life is to become a harem king(a highly reasonable goal if you ask me), anyways between the action, the boobs, the comedy, and the boobs this anime had me hooked by the first episode and had me finishing it in a day. So watch it, unless your a bitch who complains about "fan service", I just find it hilarious how over the top the "fan service" is so it adds to the comedy for me. read more

Second review only... I'm gonna start adding little intros or something.
This anime left a very strong impression on me at the start, however I began to enjoy the anime less and less. Now, if you dislike ecchi anime, why bother watch an anime with "ecchi" labeled on it only to hate it or something? Then again, you can try it if you aren't an arrogant load of bs that will give it a shot and actually decide whether you like it or not. Anyhow...
Story - 8
This anime came out with an extremely strong start in my opinion and I gave it an instant 10 for story, however after a while the story slowly drifted down to a 6. Because of the strong start, I still give it an 8. The story is amazing and I ended up day-drooling over it. I watched this anime while it was airing and therefore I was only day-drooling for the first three weeks. The story was great, however it began to slowly ignore what seemed to be the whole point of everything that happened, which was, a battle between devils and fallen angels, or something or another... it ended up focusing on battles between devils and other devils. I can't say it was the most original idea, however it was fairly original and it had a strong start. There is also often very little sense in things that happen, or some things remained unexplained.
Art - 10
I loved the art in this anime, it was amazing... I find it really hard to say something in this field...
Sound - 10
Three things I judge sound by... First, the music was splendid, well for the most part it was. Some of it wasn't the greatest, but I loved most of the music in the end. Next, the voice acting of the characters' was great as well as the sound effects, there weren't really any flaws and therefore I give a 10 in the sound department.
Character - 5
The character development isn't great in this anime and the backstories aren't explained. It was pretty poor, however I'm not solely basing it on that of course. Otherwise I'd end up giving a 2. The characters themselves were lovely. I mean, I loved all the characters in this anime - except for the protagonist. He managed to piss me off to an extreme extent.
Enjoyment - 8
This anime was great in the start, well worthy of a 10 in my opinion, but slowly drifted down to lower enjoyment levels. I know many people complain about ecchi, and it was definitely there, however I didn't pay much attention to it, even though before this anime I was solely trying to watch ecchi anime. Honestly, this was one of the earlier anime I saw. I've only been watching anime for five months now. Anyhow, I found ecchi not being a major factor rather just there to keep you amused in boring parts or areas where nothing important was happening or as time-reducing parts.
Overall
It was a decent anime, however it had many noticeable flaws. While it was still full of problems (in my opinion, of course) it was definitely an enjoyable anime and the ecchi isn't so hardcore it ruins the plot, rather than help with character development on the only character that has any character development, the protagonist. I would say it's a good anime, quite enjoyable but character development in this anime was definitely crap. read more

To start things off, yes I gave this a 10, which I never thought that I would do, but I just had so much fun watching this that I had to give it a 10 for that.
Important thing to consider with this is whether or not you like boobs, because you are going to be getting a shitload of them in this show... a friggin shitload. I dont think this is bad at all, a little fanserve (or alot as the case may be) never hurt anybody. There is so much fanservice that you dont even have to wait 3 minutes from the start to see a tit, or another 2 after that before there is a nude shower scene!
This show has a great story, it follows a guy with an innate special fighting ability and a devil woman who is saved him from death and is his primary love interest in the series. There is an interesting concept in the rating game that is used in the show-it is using people for chess pieces and duking it out.
This show also has alot of action, way more than I planned on in fact, the fights actually lasted more than 30 seconds! The fights were actually interesting and relevant to the story, which is almost never the case in a show like this.
It was also a very sweet story of romance obviously centered around the two people ive mentioned previously, and the way it ends should put a smile on anybody's face.
The art was fantastic, the characters were very well designed, the scenery was very good, and the fights were as previously mentioned very well done.
The characters were alot of fun.
Rias Gremory is a high ranking devil and the rest of the characters I talk about are her slaves, meaning that she saved them from death and now they are her underlings, not like whips and chains slaves. Rias has this one power where she heals any wound simply by sleeping with someone... in the nude... I suddenly want to break a few limbs. Issei is the protagonist of this show, he is a perv with a great power(funny how much these traits seem to intertwine) and he is in love with Rias. Akeno is Rias' right hand as it were, and theres not much to say about her other than that she is a lightning wielding sadist, which is awesome. Asia (not the continent) is an exorcist turned devil who has insane healing abilities, although personally I would rather get Rias' treatment. Kiba is a the very attractive male knight, and Koneko is the shows loli catgirl who also happens to be jacked. It is a very dynamic group of characters and they each bring their own unique attributes to the table.
Like I said before, i'd give this a 10 for sheer enjoyment alone, however every part of this was good enough that I feel that I felt any lower score wouldnt do it justice. read more
