Steins;Gate Movie: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu

Movies in which a character disappears mysteriously and no one but a person remembers them. They then struggle to make everything go back to normal. 

Movie sequels which have more psychological aspect than the series. There's also many similarity such as tsundere MC, parallel world, time travel, time loop and suddenly-vanishing-MC. Also have outstanding visuals and music. 

Both Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu and Steins Gate: Fuka Ryoiki no Deja Vu borrow their basic plot-line from the same common source material: Kimagure Orange Road, which was a popular anime TV series in the '80s. In all three anime, the protagonist somehow goes back in time to when they were kids, but by doing so this causes serious ramifications for the future, a future where the existence of their loved one is endangered, so the protagonist must try to fix things back to normal. Along the way, the protagonist meets and leaves a strong impression on a kid who turns out to be someone they know in the future.  read more 

Both movie includes a package of time traveling phenomenon, supernatural elements, and character relationships. There is mystery involved in both movies as the character tries to figure out the events that occurs in their perspective worlds. More so, they also try to solve their problems that comes as no easy task. There is comedy present in both movies in the form of dialogues and character interactions. At the same, emotional moments are factored in that balances the lighthearted and melancholic tones. 

Apart apart from the obvious similarities of these 2 movies being sci-fi and serving as conclusive endings to the series, they are both brilliantly executed. And while it's quite surprising how unexpectedly similar even the plot lines are, they both retain their originality. However, unlike the Steins;Gate movie (which has a brilliant, unparalleled series preceding it), the Haruhi Suzumiya movie actually surpasses its original series. Both are highly recommended! (must watch series first) 

Aside from both are movie sequels of two popular anime, - focuses on a situation where a main character (from the original story) does not exist or had his/her existence modified. - then they do everything to restore what has been "normal" before by means of time traveling. - also revealed the origin of intriguing names. Hououin Kyouma and John Smith. 

Both are sequel films where one of the characters of the main coupling suddenly vanishes from the world and it's up to the counterpart of the couple to try to bring them back by any means necessary. Shoushitsu is more supernatural and it is the guy searching for the girl whereas Déjà vu is sci-fi and it's the girl searching for the guy. 

The two are Movie SEQUELS of their respective TV series counterparts and both have somebody who suddenly disappears. Both have somebody who tries to find the missing person. And avoid the disappearance. They have a sense of romance in the movie.These also contain some comedy. Both are a somewhat serious type of Movie. 

Both movies are incredibly good. Both movies deal with the aspect of a main character "disappearing" and the emotional trauma that follows. To truly appreciate these movies you have to have seen the anime shows. If you like Haruhi Suzumiya or Steins;Gate you will love their movies. 

Both involves time traveling in order to restore the world line with very similar scenes that will give off vibes to the other anime. 

Both are an emotional roller coaster experience. The main character is also missing. 

Eerily similar. The quirky main character disappears, people do not remember him/her, the love interest has to search for them, time travel plays a big role. The animation is top. In both cases, you should watch the TV series first. 

"The Disappearance of Okabe Rintarou" takes after its predecessor in quite a few interesting ways. Despite literally being Steins;Gate, Load Region of Déjà vu interestingly utilizes significantly less confusing-feeling time travel conditions than The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya does to tackle the same concept. That concept, of course, being that it takes the series' most beloved character away, placing the rest of the cast in a universe where they don't exist, and tasking the new tentative "leader" of the group with bringing that beloved character back in order to fulfill the hole left in the now “empty” world. Disappearance focuses much more on emphasizing the confusing nature of the time travel, and utilizing an absurdly long runtime to paint its narrative through not only chaotic and mind-bending highs that will stick with you, but also with slow and somber lows, not unreminiscent of the pacing of Someday in the Rain or Endless Eight making up a sizeable portion of the film's conclusion and sendoff. While it's dropped the word from the title at this point, it's still quite "melancholic" indeed. Deja vu, on the other hand, gets straight to the main point of the story just thirty minutes in, and recreates the chaotic, heart-wrenching adventure of the Steins;Gate TV series with a clever inversion of character roles that culminates in an extremely stimulating and overtly satisfying conclusion, all in just an hour and a half. Both of these are among my favorite movies of all time, and I could not recommend one enough to fans of the other. (Just watch their respective original series first!) read more 

The main protagonists of both films have to deal with someone who is very important to them seemingly erased from existance. They must find a way to bring this person back. (To watch each film you need to watch it's prequel series or it won't make sense).

While also similar to the main Steins;Gate series, Kimi no Na wa and the Steins;Gate film are even more similar in that they carry many of the same compelling thematic elements. They both tackle the core theme of longing, longing for something or someone but not being quite sure of what it is or why you'd want it. They both also deal with the loss of important memories and how that can affect people who don't appear to have similar experiences. At the heart of each film is a journey, one that demands the protagonist's resolve until they figure out what – or who – is making them feel so empty and unfulfilled. read more 

Both films deal with themes relating to love and death in the face of extreme challenges, time, and memory. However, Kimi no Na wa is far better executed than the Steins;Gate movie. 

Time travel elements and also have similar "forgetting names due to timelines" kind of stuff. Just go watch it and you'll get it. It's a definitely must-watch if you have already watched Steins;Gate. 

Both films feature protagonists who, as lovers, are affected by the time and distance that separates them, and must overcome these challenges to be with each other again. 

If you're coming from Kimi no Na wa, watch the original Stein;Gate series first! While watching the Steins;Gate Movie, I couldn't help but notice the striking parallels between it, and the ending of Kimi no Na wa. Kimi no Na wa captures the best parts of the relationship between Okabe and Krisu and twists it into a fresh and exciting movie set in our down-to-earth present day. Both movies are definitely worth the emotional payoff, and will leave you thinking for a long time.

These anime are related to time, creating the same environment as the protagonists of trying to find a suitable solution. Both are sentimental and fun that allows satisfaction when seeing it. 

*Note* Both movies require prior knowledge of their respective shows. That said, if you enjoyed both of these shows and either want more, or you've seen one of these movies and not the other, then I highly recommend watching these movies. Both are decent quality objectively, and if you enjoyed the anime, then subjectively they're high quality for enjoyment purposes. They have a similar feel and flow to them. In the end, I walked away from each movie feeling satisfied and with the proper amount of feels and closure from a movie sequel.  

They have very similar story.
