When aliens suddenly invade the world, Earth seems to be fighting a losing battle until Arikawa, one of the defense command staff, accidentally discovers a young man lying on a hill. Tests soon prove the impossible: this one teenager, Kakashi, has the power to defeat the attackers! Unfortunately, Kakashi has also lost his memory, and with it the knowledge of how to actually use his power. Moving Kakashi in with himself and his own commander, Shiro, Arikawa accidentally starts a strange triangle of emotions and relationships. A triangle that threatens the fate of the planet as Kakashi begins to question his own motivations!

Some people say that there's no plot and the story is too simple but I can't disagree more. The show makes you ponder about the deeper question behind it. Why are they attacking? Why should I fight? What happens if I don't? Am I alone?

To me, the story is absolutely stunning (and I ended up crying a little while watching). It is some what light hearted but those who have watched anime like Bokurano will definitely be struck by the similarity between the underlying theme.

The main issue with this is the animation. However, I came to watch it with the full knowledge that read more

Watching this OVA was absolutely breathtaking. I, per se, thought the animation was stunning. It was truly unique and a breath of fresh air. I really loved not just the character designs but the backgrounds as well. The use of pattern and comic elements really made the animation pop.

The story itself was very cute and lighthearted making it a relatively easy watch although information regarding Kakashi's relation the aliens still remains a mystery. I also wish there had been some more development leading up to the ending. I think it would have enhanced the OVA if it had been a tad bit longer. The ending read more

This anime's story line is a bit airy. U never find out his direct connection to the aliens and why he of all people was chosen to fight but, the story has a broader focus.

Dealing with the issues of abandonment and the overwhelming feeling of loneliness in a world that isn't always kind. It's touching and leaves u teary eyed.

The art is also quite different then your typical anime and the setting and characters are drawn in an unusual, but fresh way. The art it's self read more

A truly beautiful animation. The shy and lonely student who was closest to his teacher and wanted to make friends. The feeling of the detailed scenery of the stars on the beautiful night sky, the galaxy, the crystals that absorbed the color of light. An unforgettable happy ending, the feeling of nostalgia running through my ears while listening to the ending song. This is the greatest feeling I've ever felt while watching an OVA in my entire life.

Overall, I give this a 9/10. I was nearly sent to tears with this. This is a must watch for any fujoshi, or anyone looking for a read more

Anime: Kono Danshi, Ningyo Hiroimashita.
Made and produced by the same people. The shounen ai in uchuujin to takemasu is much weaker (there's barely any) and its a lot darker, but they both have happy endings and end with that warm fuzzy feeling

Anime: Kono Danshi, Sekika ni Nayandemasu.
Made and produced by the same people. The shounen ai is much weaker in Uchuujin to Takemasu and it's a lot darker, but the art/animation are pretty much the same.

Anime: Summer Wars
Well they both have such colorful colors in the anime. Both involve fighting with something and also the idea of having support from friends or other sorts. Gives the same feeling and atmosphere. Though, Kono Danshi could be a little complex to understand. I really recommend both.

Anime: Tsuritama
Both shows contain extremely colourful scenes and have a Slice Of Life type of feel. The topic of aliens is also present in both in which, 'Tsuritama' has a main character who is an alien and 'Kono Danshi, Uchuujin to Tatakaemasu' has a main character who defeats aliens. The characters are also a similarity; the main casts being completely male. There are also some moments that take place in the main characters thoughts. Lastly, both shows contain very light Shounen Ai.

Anime: Hoshi no Koe
Art in both OVAs is similar. They also share the same feeling and in both a cell phone plays an importand role. Only difference is that Kono Danshi, Uchuujin to Tatakaemasu is labeled as (very light) shounen ai and Voices of a Distand Star is normal romance.
