Brave 10

I have just started watching Brave 10 and this is my review after watching up to episode 7. What got me into watching this was someone's review on it which only stated it was bad and only people who like Naruto or just lames would watch it. Now Naruto in my opinion is a great anime and manga so I might fit that group of Naruto lovers but the person never went into why the series is so bad. In my opinion from up to this point I'm enjoying it. It's better than Naruto with showing blood and a little fan service. The relationship between ... Saizo Kirigakure and Isanami is good because you can tell Saizo cares for her because he doesn't reject her when she hugs him or wants to be around him. It would make sense to why she would like him since he was the first person outside the temple that gave a damn about her. I think the female is cute how she acts and how she loves the male, wish she had a little breast but she probably get some when she turn 21. I know down the line they are going to mess it up because she looks like she just turned 18-19 while Saizo is maybe 2 years older but I bet when they show ages she will be 16 and him 25 I don't know why they do that tends to make the story look like the child molester and molested. They could have a 19 and 23 year old that wouldn't look bad but if they turn it into a speed grapher type thing I would be disgusted. By the way speed grapher was a great anime though but what they were doing to that girl in the beginning was just horrible. The only plot line they have right now is the fact that people are trying to get this hairpin form Isanami but no one really knows if she's the only one who can control it and exactly knows what it can do. I'm interested to see what will happen next in this story so I guess I'm a Narutoad.
Overall I give this story right now a 7/10 because the first part is not finished but I can see that it might turn out to be something good. It does have romance, action, ecchi, and comedy rolled all into it and not afraid to show violence so that's good. I do want it to open up and start talking more about the Brave 10 but I guess the first season is the gathering of the 10 then comes next the true villain.
The art is not to bad so I give it a 8/10 I like Isanami so that might be why I give it a higher score but there's nothing I can say that was horrible about the characters that were drawn. The only thing I saw but liked was how big Isanami eyes were and the opening theme makes the ice ninja look kind of rough and ugly. In the series she doesn't look bad and it's funny how Sanada is trying to get in bed with her but I don't know why she don't like him. She might try and play that tsundere type for him; I bet he will like that the way he's been acting. Then again maybe she still has feelings for the Saizo.
I give the characters a 9/10 because all of them seemed pretty interesting and I would like to see how the author builds up the characters. Also Saizo is pretty cool not super arrogant and not super bitchy. I come to notice when the dude likes the girl to much it messes up the story and when he shows to less interest it makes the story boring this is just right but I want to see their relationship grow into something. I wouldn't be surprised if the red head turned out to be a female and the ice ninja starts flirting harder with Saizo that will make it into a basic anime for you.
The sound I give a 8/10 because the voices where good but the opening and closing hasn't caught my ear yet so I can't say it got to me but also can't say it's horrible. Overall the enjoyment of the show I give a 9/10. I can't give it a perfect score because it can still turn out to be a horrible anime if the plot isn't good but from the way it's stating it might turn out to be a great anime. I have added this series to my common shows that I watch so I'm hoping that it doesn't disappoint me.
So if you're into action, romance, comedy, violence, and ecchi I think you will like this. I guess you will be considered a lame by that person but who cares I like good shows and whatever is good in my eyes is something I'm going to watch. Oh yea and the only similarities I see in Naruto is that they are ninja and they use stuff that reminds me of jutsu in Naruto.

Story is set in feudal japan where everyone carries swords and is a ninja/samurai...or trying to be one...or is the lord who controls them. (I am trying to describe this anime without any spoilers)

Its funny, superficial but for a short series it is good enough esp since most of the episode time is spent in fights( again short in duration but entertaining none-the-less)

The characters are just outlined.. you mostly dont understand their actions/or their motivations. Shallow characters with comic potential.

Everyone wants to obtain the power Isnami possess...and you want to ask her..why are you so stupid? and also Love at first sight?!...really??!!*face-palms*

Overall I rather enjoyed ... the anime and watched all the episodes in one weekend.

STORY:
Brave 10 is too concerned with looking cool than telling a decent story. I understand this is derived from a manga franchise, but as a standalone, it's lacking. First, I don't understand any of the characters because they are so flat. Saizou is the typical angsty, loner archetype while Isanami is the perky, clingy priestess girl. Cool. Let's actually build on that and not leave them flatter than a steamrolled pancake. I will give some slack because it’s probably hard to convey characters well in twelve episodes.

I did like the actual significance of the Brave 10 a lot. It would have been too easy to ... assign cliché roles to the characters. Ah, but darkness is not who you think it is. *wink*

CHARACTERS:
The way this show goes about introducing characters leaves a lot to be desired.

Saizou is an ex-ninja who is afraid to fight for someone. The ninja world has left him jaded so he’s something like a ronin. He was okay but not much else than “cool” and a bit hotheaded.

Isanami is bland, very bland. She’s like a shoujo lead because she gets kidnapped a lot, loves the first boy she sees, and wishes her breast were bigger. For some reason, even though there is no real development, I like her and Saizou together. Sometimes, I like cliché love. Still, I never felt a sense of urgency for her troubles.

Yukimura, I did not really get. There’s more to him than what meets the eyes, but I just did not really care. He’s a great leader, fighter, and all-around funny guy.

Benmaru is a grating brat. Take your firebombs and go home, kid!

Anatasia, who is super busty strictly for fanservice reasons, is one of the most interesting characters. Her backstory is over-the-top, but she was somewhat cool.

Kamanosuke is annoying but very much wants to be loved.

I liked Sasuke a lot. He is shy, a forest boy, and an animal lover.

Jinpachi, I know too little about. He likes alcohol and women, and he’s got some nice dreads. Pretty handsome for a pirate!

ART:
The animation is so fluid that there aren't any wacky in-between shots. The fight scenes are cool but uncomfortably short and erratic. I find myself asking “why is this person fighting that person?” The characters’ designs are not to my liking, but the art style is great. I wish some of the color schemes were more imaginative. I think the characters could have undergone one more draft to fine-tune the designs. Still, I'm not complaining because I like Brave 10's art.

SOUND:
Isanami's voice is annoying. The End.

OVERALL:
Did I like watching this show? Yeah, I did! But I had some disappointment such as how anticlimactic the final showdown was. I wasn’t familiar with Brave 10 before this, so that might have left me a bit biased.

If you can put up with “SAIZOU!” an infinite amount of times, and a story focused more on visuals than plot, then this show is for you!

This anime can seriously go screw itself. Holy cow is this anime dogshit. Its not even entertaining to have a laugh at and i seriously contemplated strangling myself with my shoelace more than once while watching it.

You might be wondering "oh Cravey, if it was so bad why did you bother sitting through however much you watched?". I'll start by saying i would have dropped this like shit into the dunny but i am obligated to finish it for my anime watching challenge. Brave 10 at first glance seems like it has much to offer. It has some nice voices and alright art. I especially ... was tricked when i thought it had a Sengoku Basara historical vibe to it. Sadly, after getting into it you soon realise that that what you're stuck with is dogshit. You'd think that if they go out of their way to use historical figures for their characters they'd be able make some of them interesting, but frankly its insulting the way they turn these legends into angsty teenage bishies. Each of the characters suck, the worst being the main girl, who suffers from typical retarded heroine syndrome. WHY are you so dumb Isanami?! Seriously, they are written so bad that you might think an autistic gerbil with downs wrote this shit.

The story is dumb. It involves some lord trying to gather strong people for whatever reason, i didn't really care to follow, but it'll probably end with Isanami being retarded and screwing everyone over with her shit. Most of the screen time goes into long ass fights where they try desperately hard to try give each character some kind of interesting ability, kind of like some shit from Naruto or Bleach. I mean its OK if you're into that kind of shoneny stuff but most of the characters only ever get one fight so its kinda pointless. I mean in the first place there's too many characters. Why does the lord even have to get 10 people anyway? its not like its important to the story and it would probably be better if they just focused on a couple of characters. It like they decided 10 was a good number and made each of them have different powers so we wouldn't forget their names. The only character i remember is Isanami and that's not because she's memorable. Seriously i don't even remember the main characters name but its probably some generic ninja name like Hanzo or something

The art and animation is OK. The OP and ED and pretty interesting, but other than that there's nothing much memorable in the sound.

Dont watch this shit, you will lose braincells.

This is a bad anime,but enjoyable nonetheless.

The story, although mixed with a lot of history, is very poor. The first episode was nice, but then Saizou changed. There were one or two characters I liked. Honestly I expected much more action and good fight sequences. But it seemed as if the fights were mediocre and were there just to help move the story along.

A tad too much of twists, with the plot already being convoluted as it is. The animation was good though, and was quite colourful.

The climax was meh and the ending was weak and confusing as well. If you're going ... for story along, I'd say don't. But if you just want an enjoyable anime with some funny moments, this is fine.

Another series concerning the edo era of Japan with notable historical figures like Tokugawa, Masamune, Yukimura, Mitsunari, and so on...
It is hard to follow though when you are used to the story from sengoku basara but I just followed its story line as episode go by.
The fight scenes are ninja type unlike Basara and not much of the lords clash with each other. Subordinates! FIGHT-O!
One thing why I didnt give the story a larger rate is due to the ending. It feels like they were in a hurry and cramped it all on the last episode plus that the main character had all the sole ... epic role of saving the world. Maybe cause I expected that it will be a team work type...but the other protagonist also did well, just saying.. haha..
In a way,it feels like it ended like soul eater to me. the series ended after one main catastrophic event and just return to the normal usual days.

Now, a certain group of fans really dislike how this anime is set in the same era [although Naruto is not set in the Sengoku era] and same genre as Naruto[ninja], but really, that is stupid reason to dislike this anime. Especially if you have not seen it yet.

At first I was not sure if this anime was worth my time because of the negative reviews, but it seemed interesting and I thought it would good so I gave it a go.

The animation is good and the characters are one of the best things about the anime. Sure it has ninjas, samurais, assassins and the ... "substitute jutsu" in it, but it should not be a reason to compare Naruto with this Anime. Those are not something that are uniquely created but rather some ancient myth in Japan.

So overall, yes, this anime is worth a try. If you want something unique then this anime might not be for you, but then, good luck on finding an 'unique anime'...

I would not recommend this show, but I did find a couple elements about the show interesting.

Positives:
Kamanosuke: In the show, while not a lot, there are little nuances about sexuality and gender. For an example Kamanosuke, probably the most interesting character of the show, constantly refers to himself as he/him, but we see other people in the society at first view him as a women, which leads viewers to think about gender identity, societies view of it at the time of the shows release, and etc as a whole. While I do say this, the show never dives deep at all into this which can ... be very bothersome.

Battles: The show did have some fun battles in it, although to be honest, there were also some boring battles to.

Jinpachi: This dude is a good character with a diverse background. Although, he was quite literally the last brave that was revealed so you dont get to see him much.

Sound: While im putting sound here, honestly sound was a mixed bag of positives and negatives. They did do some things well such as the banger OST and ED but most conversations felt bland.

Negatives:
Story: The story is very generic. It felt like the only reason why it was greenlit was because ninjas and Shonen were popular at the time.

Every other character: The rest of the cast had no depth. Especially the two main characters, Sasuke and Isanami. They were very cut-out tropes you can find done anywhere else better.


Overall: Most people will find the show to be bad. but a few people will find some parts interesting only if they were hyper analyzing the show.

I started watching this because I thought the synopsis makes this out to be like the 2004 series Samurai 7. Although, the artwork and sound quality is better the story is too fast paste and there isn't hardly any character development. Since there was so little character development I couldn't connect with any of the characters in this anime. This anime needed to be at least twice as long as it was and need character back-story. The story line could work over a longer arc.

oh my GOD, before I start this I really don't mean to bash this show and I'm sorry if anything that follows after this offends or upsets anyone (again, if anyone even reads this XD) I apologize in advance, I am simply just speaking my mind. alright so here we go; I think that this show is soooo random that it's actually getting irritating. like honestly the only thing that's keeping me from dropping it is saizou's and sanada's face. I see absolutely no plot line in anything; maybe I'm blind or just have a hard time processing everything that's happened in these 12 episodes ... but from what I've got I'm just laughing because NOTHING MAKES SENSE. the character reaction to things are so random (i.e. when saizou touched yuri's head and then yuri flipped and ran off like what, WAHT WAS THAT?) I just oh my god, I don't GET IT. so they go around collecting all 10 braves but so far even so, it's just so unorganized and again, RANDOM.

dsufakrgfjhsrv I'm literally choking i'm laughing so hysterically, this show is just so random it's amusing. I mean at first I didn't even want to watch this show because in my mind it showed too many similarities to naruto and since I'm weird and all i really care is naruto, all that went through my head was "NOOOO!" it was my friend lena who convinced to finally give it a go and first I was down but obviously as the episodes progressed I just wanted to jump off a cliff. hsdfbhjkgf like that one scene where sanada or someone is explaining the distribution of powers (isanami's hair pin is an example) was split amongst the reigning countries for equal power.. like come on, seriously, oh my god, NARUTO MUCH? I don't know man I guess I am just so over with this show that I don't even care, I don't see it going anywhere so I won't be surprised to see the outcome as so. but yeah, basically this show has become rubbish and I can't stop laughing, so that's that.

This anime has recivied reviews rating in all numbers. Here is what I think to be the better review to explain this. Before i get into the rating please remember this is a 12 episode anime.

Story 6
Story isn't bad, it actually is quite interesting. Nothing new but not overused. It would recive a migh higher mark if it wasen't 12 episodes long. They were trying for something great and interesting but did not have the time leaving great build up with the worst kind of ending. The kind that dosen't end. Leaving the ending aside it is very fun to watch

Beautful art and Beautful ... blood not unique but still interesting. enough said

Hardly any sound i think there is some at points but unlike other anime you hardly notcie it.

Character 4
If it was longer we may have more interesting characters but we didn't. The main character might be memerable to you as a pessimist bad ass. or maybe the female lead who is a comeplte annoyance. The only character who was memerable was the reverse trap who loved blood. sadistic and very amuseing. I paid more attention to him the most for his/her/it's orginality

Enjoyment 9
The 9 is based on the fact i am not includeing the final episode. other then the final horrable episode it is quite enjoyable and a good watch while waiting for the other anime episodes to come out.

There is better and worse out there but this is just something to watch when you can't think of anything. just don't comapre it to other anime because remember it is short.

I almost skipped watching this anime after looking at the low score and the critical reviews... Though, I choose to watch it and managed to complete this anime within a day. Well, I enjoyyyyyy Brave 10 so much!

The plot is simple but decent and fun 😁... Naruto fans might like this... there are ninja arts and so on... Every character is unique... they have their own power element... This anime has lots of decent fighting scenes too..

Oh yeah... I think the main lead, Saizou, is a lot like general Hak in Akatsuki no Yona...

Basically, I love this anime because of the simple yet fun ... plot... furthermore, the characters are so lively... You will not get bored watching Brave 10... unless you love something hardcore like Sengoku Basara which had lots of serious fighting scenes and less weak character like Isanami (heroin in Brave 10).

In a nutshell: Everything this anime had potential in was ultimately pegged by flaws.

Story: Although the plot was predictable and unoriginal, it had the potential to be enjoyable. EXCEPT the story began at a slow pace as we met the various characters of the Brave 10. Moving at largo from episodes 1 through 10, all of a sudden the plot sped through the whole story in the last three episodes. The sad thing was that by episode 10, I welcomed the change of pace because I just wanted to get the series over with.

Characters: Again, so much potential here. For me, the eclectic and ... eccentric bunch that the Brave 10 were comprised of was the highlight of the show. Each character had their own style, albeit filling various archetypal roles expected in most animes. Regardless, there was variety in the mix in terms of looks, personalities, and backgrounds. EXCEPT, I found Isanami (the protagonist) utterly annoying. (In some reviews, there was a complaint that the main characters didn't get enough airtime because there were so many other warriors, but for me, this ended up being a saving grace.) If it were up to me, I would've replaced her entirely with an artifact. In my opinion, she added nothing as a human character except a repetitive cycle of crying sounds and high-pitched cries to Saizou. In all the animes that I have watched, I've never met a less contributing MAIN character. (More bluntly, I think the female leads in hentai display more character than she does.)

Enjoyment: Possible. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this series to anyone, but it's not the worst thing I've ever watched. It would be okay to have in the background. It's a series that won't require your commitment; a show that'd be easy to drop for something better that comes along.

Finally, if you feel like this is an underwhelming review of Brave 10, then I think I've achieved the same takeaway feeling that it gave me when I finished watching it.

If you ask me brave 10 is one of the most underrated anime out there I personally loved it, I mean there's so much to love about it if you are a lover of the action, historical, adventure genre. The action I'm talking about is not some cheeky ball game or something epic less, I'm talking blood and ninja fights done so well you wouldn't be able to tell if you're watching it or not. Honestly I don't know why the popular opinion about the anime is so bad. Because for me everything about the anime is top notch the story, the art, ... the soundtrack, the characters everything.
The story talks about a female priestess on the run from ninjas trying to kill her after they had already killed everyone else in her temple she stumbled upon a ninja who doesn't have a master because he hates having one, now that might have been a problem for most ninjas at that time but not this guy, he loved being free. He saved the priestess from the ninjas and as they continued their journey they stumbled into the territory of a powerful man gathering ten skilled people from all around the world. That's just about what you'll get from me regarding the story if you want to know more, read the synopsis on MAL or better still check it out.


The art in this anime is wonderful the dark theme the anime had suited the story in fact you could tell that the amount of time and money put into the making of this anime doesn't deserve to be underrated in this manner. Despite the art not being brightly coloured, it's still a marvel how well the art matches the story. Beautifully designed action scenes, well drawn scenery, name it!


I think the soundtrack is one of the reason why the public opinion on the anime is not so good. I have always taught that a good soundtrack makes a good anime and while the soundtrack in the anime wasn't so bad it failed to bring to life those flashy scenes or failed to sound sad when it had to. Well apart from this complain, the soundtrack was awesome.

This anime had really strong characters, like I said earlier a man was gathering 10 really strong people around the world. It had characters really intelligent, some good with gun to each their own field. There was no character development because everyone around is a master in what they do. Brave 10 focused on the priestess because she was the only one weak, she was the only one that needed to be protected.


I think by now you already have an idea of how much I enjoyed brave 10 despite public opinion, for me the anime is ratted (9/10) I don't know how it'll be for you but it's not too late to find out.

Okay so the few dissapointments from this series are:

-Basic bitch plot (for the first seasons arc)
-Marry sue female heroine
-No romance/sexual tenson between the two main characters (who are implied to be complimentary to eachother (yin and yang, light and dark)
-NO SECOND SEASON!?

Moving from that I would like to express the good points of this anime.

-plot development - there is decent plot development within the first season arc. The ending leads me to believe that the production team planned to produce at least another season but that did not happen, thus far. (I'm assuming not enough interest in the anime which is usually the case..)

-The characters. If the plot of an anime doesn't mean a lot to you and you care more about the characters themselves then this is a good one to watch. they all have a background (almost all..) and throughout the show you never really get bored of any of them (apart from izunami that is. she's as flat as a pancake)

Brave 10 is based on a manga which is loosely based on the Sengoku period. One of the various fables of that era was the Sanada Ten, a team of powerful warriors who were formed by Sanada Yukimura in his efforts to rule supreme. The premise is the formation of the team and is shown primarily through the eyes of Saizo.

I can’t say the setting and the premise are that interesting. They are in fact quite basic so far and there have been several other stories based on the same period and people. The most famous example is Naruto but the relations don’t go further ... than some names as well as both shows being equally gay. Samurai Deeper Kyo (SDK) is another case, this one even centered on the exact same events and characters. The anime adaptation sucked ass but the manga was amazingly GAR to the most part.

So after some years I am seeing another take on the same era. I start by checking out the people who made it and I get nothing but bad signs. Studio TMS never produced an above average work (its best attempts were Hundred Stories, Kenichi, and D.Gray-Man). And the director, Sayama Kiyoko (female) is not shown to be very talented based on her roster (her best works are Vampire Knight and Skip Beat). So just imagine what happens when they give an action show about macho ninjas to be directed by a woman who is good only at girly romances. Exactly, she turns everyone to handsome homos.

Let’s move to the actual show. Maybe it won’t be that bad despite being made by amateurs. And no, just from the opening I already know it will be far less basic and interesting than dear old SDK. The intro song is nothing but a cameo parade of all the characters and their special abilities. Seriously, where is the interest in watching the show if you already know what they all do? And come on, is this show so shallow that they had nothing else to show other than a parade? Fail.

Maybe the intro is bad and the plot is deeper (no relation to Kyo) than that. And nope, in just three minutes the story barely begins and WHAM we are already shown how the protagonist is uber powerful and the lead female is useless and in constant need of his help (it wasn’t like that with Kyo). So he comes here, he goes there, and he meets lots of weird guys he has to fight. Expected. Ok, maybe the action parts will be good. And boy, could it be any worse than that? Not because of the actual battles, which are ok as far as special attacks and supernatural martial arts goes but because of the bad choreography. The transition from one scene to another is completely random and anything could happen just because the scriptwriter said so and not because it followed some sort of actual strategy. They can be fighting for half an hour just to protect or kidnap Miss Pacifism (her name is not important because she is female in a male-oriented show, so I will be using nicknames). without any luck, and then a simple guy can just waltz in, grab her under their very noses, and move calmly away while they are spacing out. You also barely see the fighters move; they use the typical frozen images with a few simple visual effects to make you think they move. Adding to that the background music which is usually a random tune playing in the background and the directing which is completely lazy. Stuff blow up and people get killed and you feel absolutely nothing compared to, let’s say, Rurouni Kenshin or Advent Children . Meaning, the aesthetics are completely basic to the point of not caring to look at the screen.

Let’s move to the characters. For starters they all feel like filler characters from Naruto, which is bad because Naruto is gay, fillers suck, and a cast should feel special and not a rehash of a now decadent shounen. So what do we have here? Ah yes, Saizo, the protagonist who is repulsive right away for being constantly bored with his life. I mean, seriously, the only thing he is doing when not fighting is sleeping or running away scared from girls. How is he supposed to be macho if he can’t stand a few boobs? He must be gay (thus this really is like Naruto). And is this a manly samurai action series or a shitty harem? It sure doesn’t feel like the first if it has such a wuss main hero. If it was, he should have been constantly horny, molesting and raping anything that catches his eye (that is, everything), just like all normal men did in the good old chauvinistic feudal times. Kyo from SDK was one of them. But then again this is not really a manly show about gar super samurai from the actual Sengoku era but a lukewarm show with poser idiots who loosely plagiarize historical events, and who are hardly as cool as Kyo or the original historical Sanada were. If the animators didn’t want to show rape or something that immoral, they could just make him not care in the least, like in the case of Katanagatari. The chemistry between Shichika and Togame was very unorthodox and thus memorable, but here it is totally boooring because it feels like yet another show aimed at boys whose balls haven’t drop yet. I mean he is already bored out of his mind, so why is not being bored of girls that hard to think of? Because it wouldn’t be funny? IT WOULD BE FIFTY TIMES FUNNIER; HAREM LEADS ARE THE ONES WHO ARE NOT FUNNY AT ALL ANYMORE!

Furthermore, are all these warrior dudes supposed to be manly, talking big in the middle of the fight while doing all sorts of acrobats and magician tricks? Well if they are so powerful then why were they both owned when Miss Useless just gets fed up and just intervenes? She is all “Stop fighting, hurting people is bad hurr durr” attitude and I just want to slash her in half just for that. This is an action show you stupid bitch, take your pacifism elsewhere. But then again she can do anything she likes because she is Miss Sunshine and the rest are a bunch of idiots who can’t just say “Shut up you broad, you only exist so you’ll be kidnapped every half an hour and we are the ones busting out butts trying to save you every time. We are the strong ones here so close that trap of yours and let us do what we know best.”

But they never do that and instead constantly try to protect Miss Kidnap Target Practice. So you never consider them to be that strong, or dedicated to their cause, or even good at what they are doing. Seriously, they are pathetic in their job since they always get ambushed in the most simple and obvious way possible. What kind of elite ninjas get ambushed twice a day? Even a baby can fool these idiots. And it’s not like they do a smart comeback to win every time they fall for it. No sir, it always gets resulted with some random super attack they had in store but never use from the very start even if it has no set back. Hell, even Miss Molest-Me-Now has her own superpower, which works anytime the scriptwriter feels like it and not every time she or Saizo are in danger.

You can’t even like the characters for their looks, since they all look like whores and gigolos. Seriously, they are all supposed to be sexy and with cool clothes, and then a baby appears and lures them to a trap without even trying. So much for character appeal. Especially for Miss Braindead, who gets completely fascinated with Saizo, although he constantly ignores her and runs away. HOW STUPID IS SHE?

The directing is terrible even in non-action scenes. The way everything works in this show is making your I.Q. drop to that of a lizard. Everybody is constantly unable to see someone standing exactly next to him, just because he was out of screen or wasn’t talking. But when the scriptwriter feels like it, he can jump in-screen to do or say something and everybody is acting all surprised. WOW, WHERE DID HE COME FROM? He was standing right next to you, you idiots. And then it’s the whole lousy way they have to try to make things more exciting. There is this scene where that stupid bimbo is completely scared of snakes and points at the place the snake is. So for reasons unexplained she also comes along with that wuss Saizo to find the snake. WHY IS SHE DOING THAT IF SHE IS TERRIFIED? And then they find the snake and guess what. She faints from fear. OF COURSE SHE WOULD; SHE IS TERRIFIED OF SNAKES! And wait a second, if many others were ordered to find the snake, why didn’t they inform others about it so they can have backup? WHY DID THEY GO IN ALONE? And then guess what, the snake blows up in their faces, causing a small nuclear explosion. They are just fine for some impossible to imagine reason and nobody else in the valley heard of such a big bang. This is just a small example of how ridiculous the whole thing is.

So, after all this mess why is the anime even called Brave 10? You mostly see what Saizo does and it’s not divided to ten side stories, so the show could easily be called Brave 1. Plus, why is he even called brave if he gets scared of a few boobs? The show should be called Wuss 1. Plus, he is a bored retard, so it should be called Bored Retard Wuss 1. And there is an even greater fail in all this mess. Despite all that I said so far about the show and the numerous comparisons to Naruto, this anime is not tagged as shounen (for boys) but seinen (for adults). HOW THE DEVIL IS THIS GAY SHOW SEINEN? Where are the sex and the gorish splatter? Why is this placed on the same level as Berserk and above the far more violent, erotic, and GAR SDK?

This show is a total fail! Basic story, boring battles, lousy directing, gay characters, lame resolutions; it couldn’t give you any worse impressions.

I just want to say that this anime has very minimal, but sufficient, flashback. That's what I like about this anime.

I couldn't finish it at all.

The story was okay, not great just okay. The main reason I couldn't finish was because of the female MC. I LOVED everyone else, she was the only thing wrong. I get that sh does not have any combat training, but does she know that? She was like a clingy girlfriend to the male MC and was just a spoiled brat. I wish so much that the male MC would have dropped her like trash, but I guess there has to be a 'love' interest.

Honestly, if the female had an attitude adjustment and stopped being a spoiled brat ... this would have been better.

Hmmm... This is an interesting anime at its core with a story that, on the surface at least, appears to be quite reminiscent of the Magnificent Seven or Samurai seven.

Team of badasses protecting the 'chosen one' so to speak.

The problem with this anime lies in its worldbuilding.

It is set during Sengoku Jidai and so one would assume it is a historical anime filled with hard gritty, realistic action.

Instead we get a Naruto pretender with secret techniques, magic and monsters thrown into the mix.

There is nothing wrong with this trope but it feels odd and out of place when basing it on real ... history as opposed to a fantasy set up.

Other than that some of the characters are quite lacklustre as well with no background to build a rapport on.

If you can get past these two issues then I would definitely recommend giving this anime a shot.

This is a wonderful historical fiction type anime set in feudal japan. The series is not too long, and nothing ever really drags on. The character development is good enough and it is very entertaining. However they could of done much more with this series, i felt that it wasn't long enough and kind of left me unsatisfied, like i wanted more. Sort of like running for miles, and getting a nice cool drink of water only to have it knocked from your hand before you have even taken half. But it is a very good anime, and something to watch for sure.
