Synopsis

Hunters devote themselves to accomplishing hazardous tasks, all from traversing the world's uncharted territories to locating rare items and monsters. Before becoming a Hunter, one must pass the Hunter Examination—a high-risk selection process in which most applicants end up handicapped or worse, deceased.

Ambitious participants who challenge the notorious exam carry their own reason. What drives 12-year-old Gon Freecss is finding Ging, his father and a Hunter himself. Believing that he will meet his father by becoming a Hunter, Gon takes the first step to walk the same path.

During the Hunter Examination, Gon befriends the medical student Leorio Paladiknight, the vindictive Kurapika, and ex-assassin Killua Zoldyck. While their motives vastly differ from each other, they band together for a common goal and begin to venture into a perilous world.

This is my favorite anime of all time and has been for 10 years. I could sing the praises of this anime all day, so I will try to be brief. Hunter x Hunter revolutionizes the shonen genre and fleshes out the characters in a way no other shonen does. Living in this kind of a shonen world is inheritly traumatizing, and this anime explores that through all of its very morally grey characters. It gets more and more emotional and dark as the show progresses, and really connects the viewer to the beautiful world building and deep character development. I feel as though I'm in the minority here as I didn't enjoy this series as much as others, to this day I dont understand why this anime has such an overwhelmingly positive reception, the vast majority of reviews giving this a 10. I dont know maybe its just me. But allow me to speak for the minority here.

A generally beloved piece of media.
But the show suffers fundamentaly at several levels.
Like a castle made on sand.

# Plot
•Simple plot of a young boy venturing into the unknown with a dreams and making friends alongside. (Nothing new.)
An abrupt story divided into arcs which seem more like random jigsaw fitted without prior planning.

• The other major problems arises from instantaneous nature of writing.
At time arc is concluded without giving proper conclusion.
