Yuu Watase's greatest animes
The story line of an average school girl being dragged into a much more fantasy like world or situation is similar to that in fushigi yuugi. This is also a reverse harem anime, much like fushigi yuugi. The romance in this and the love triangle and obstacles are also similar in the two shows.
Both were beautifully done by Yu Watase and also have very unique stories in both of the series. Lots of fantasy with a mixture of romance in each of the stories. Enjoy!
Directed and written by the same respective director and writer. One is more naturally-paced than the other but both needs a lot of tissue boxes.
They're both created by Yuu Watase so the characters look very much alike and the mood of the series have a similar feel. They also both have this "you and me agains the world" theme and they each have their share of tragic, tearjerking moments. If you also like the track Wakatteita Hazu from FY, then you gotta check Scarlet from AnC. They both have a sad yet beautiful melody.
Even without remembering that Yuu Watase was the same magnaka for both series, I was already picking out similarities between these two animes within the first two episodes. The way romance is approached, art style and high dramatic appeal is pretty much identical. If you liked one, you'll probably like the other.
Yuu Watase has made both of them so they both have a love triangle, lots of drama and romance, and such :)
Both anime's are created by anime aclaimed author Watase, Yuu. The graphics and designs of characters are pretty similar. A story of risking one's life for the protection of another...Endless mysteries, magical powers, and intense romance.
Same author, same art style. While watching one you'll get the feel of the other. Both are made up of romance and fantasy. The only difference is that Ayashi no Ceres has a more serious atmosphere while Fushigi Yuugi has some comedy thrown in the mix.
They have a similar story line and were both written by Yuu Watase.

the love triangle between Haji, Saya and Kai reminds me a lot of the love triangle between Touya, Aya and Yuuhi. And I hate the final pairing in both anime
Violence, drama and love. Emotionally deep female leads.
Similar sort of framework (female lead, special powers, hopes to help others from an evil she indirectly causes because of her lineage), but I preferred Blood+ on almost every front to Ayashi.
In both anime the main characters are twins (Diva & Saya/Aya & Aki).
Aya=Saya. Apart from having almost the same name, both are average schoolgirls who have a power within them and become another person when angered or in danger. Both are also pretty hesitant and annoying at times.
Toya=Haji. The emotionless, cold, non-human guy in love with the main girl, he's basically her bodyguard and lives only for her.
Yuuhi=Kai. The good guy, also in love with the main girl, but with no chance to succeed, he's loved in return by another girl.
In both you'll find love triangles, blood, gore, action, bishounen, romance, drama, scientists, doctors, experiments.
They have also a few more themes in common, such as memory loss, science, pregnancy, "incest", and family bounds.
Both can be considered reverse harem anime, Blood+ is just a zillion times better than Ayashi No Ceres.

The story is somewhat similar to Ceres only more mature. There is also some incest and reincarnations of celesital beings. Also, the genres are similar.
are two very good anime series that are worthing to watch.

In both animes the main girls want to save their brothers from evil. Both animes are tragic stories with action that deal with supernatural beings.

These anime are both focused on a race of women (with unusual hair colors) who are superior than normal humans.
In both you'll find experiments, females with super powers, gore, split personalities, memory loss, science, one handsome megane man, love triangles, romance, incest, and drama.
Also, in both anime there's a seashell who has a quite important role.

Both animes talk about the curse of Celestial maidens and how that affects the main girls. Although Ayashi is full of action, and Air is slice of life, we can see the main girls goal, trying to break the curses. Both animes make you cry with tragic characters.

This is another creation of Yuu Watase that will give you one of the best romance anime.

A romance type of anime created by Yuu Watase.

Both are supernatural shoujos full of mystery. In both, the main girls, are the reencarnations of godesses, and the main guys are the reencarnations of evil men. In both you can see a love triangle and tragic stories.

Even if being different in plot and length, both are smutty anime with plenty of drama which involve love between twins (even though Imouto has actual incest, while Ceres doesn't).
Also, Aya and Iku are very similar: both are blonde, dumb and quite annoying schoolgirls.

Clannad does not have a supernatural aspect to it, but two stories have somewhat similar pace, try watching one if you like the other...

Two close high school students become enemies due to their destined incarnations as opposing divine beings. Angels, legends, bloody violence and tragic romance. Overall, a very similar dark supernatural shoujo (e.g. bishounen) theme. Highly recommended.

Ayashi no Ceres gave me the very same feeling that I first had when I first watched Sailor Moon many years ago. Both series had princess or "princess-like" outer-space beings that fell in love with men that helped them but had a past that men don't remember. Both stories touched my heart that I didn't think an anime couple could.

Ayashi has a much darker story than Full Moon, but both provide a bitter-sweet experience, a beautiful love story and some supernatural stuff to boot. Plus, both are just great animes!

Two beautiful quest/love stories where main characters have to fight for their happiness. In both, female characters discover new super-natural abilities which they learn to use. Escaflowne is a bit lighter and a bit more action-focused, but you will definitely like both!

Both Monster and Ayashi no Ceres are about twins and there are deep dark secrets in the past that must be discovered and brought to light. Each twin has a different purpose and this is discovered throughout the series. If you liked one then you will definitely love the other

These two great stories both offer supernatural, love-triangles and drama. VK is lighter, but has a somewhat similar mood to Ayashi...

Drama, love and supernatural are prominent in both (though Fruits Basket is the more light-hearted of the two). Need I say more?
