I am not recomending "Dog Days" to those who like "Zero no Tsukaima", but recomending "Zero no Tsukaima" to those who like "Dog Days". Yes, there have been a lot of comparisons to the two, because they happen to have male main characters summoned to another world, but beyond that, they are two very different series. "Zero no Tsukaima" is better plot wise and uses humor much better, not to mention has really good characters.
Our "Hero" who is living his daily life get's summoned by a girl from a different world in order to fight for/with her.
This anime reminds you of Zero no Tsukaima.A girl from different world summoning an ordinary japaneese boy. However Dog Days is less violent than Zero no Tskaima but equally Echi. Both main guys are very dense. Also Dog days dosen't have the harem theme although some girls think he is cool but it really isn't harem yet.
In both the protagonist is an ordinary boy who is summoned by a pink-haired girl in a fantasy world.
Both guys are about the same age and had a normal dandy life and are "summoned" by a chick with pinkish hair. Aside from that, the guys in each are walking and all of a sudden are falling from the sky and land in a fancy shmancy world that has a war. Well, Zero no Tsukaima's war comes later on. But you get the picture. Oh, and both anime have a super major uber nice princess.
Both series involves a main protagonist who is dragged into another world where he has his life changed forever.
Both series contain plenty of battles mixed in with action, comedy, drama, and later romance.
Both series has fantasy themes that are considered more lighthearted with some ecch in the mix.
Both series' main protagonist also has similar personalities in terms of valor and charisma.
Both protagonists get sent to a different world that they dont know. The diffrence is that in zero no tsukaima he can actually kill people but in dog days when you hurt someone they turn into a cat (round ball)
~(May include spoilers)~
Similarities:
Both Main male character go to another world other than Earth.
Both worlds have magic there, but Dog Days' magic is more random, whereas Zero no Tsukaima's magic is based more on wizards.
Both male main characters want to get back to their own world.
Both main female characters don't want them to go.
Both main male characters are summoned to the new world.
Differences:
Main character starts as a hero in Dog Days summoned by a princess, but in Zero no Tsukaima the main male character starts as a familiar with a owner who is bullied and still at magic school.
(I can tell you more but then I would be telling a few too many spoilers)
both protagonist goes to another world where they will be summoned and they will be intrested in that world

The first thing that came into my mind after seeing Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? was dog days..Both are fantasy anime in which the hero is invited to another world for participating in a game.
both MC have blond hair
both MC's actually go out and OMIGOD...have fun. they actually look forward to stuff happening around them
both are physically talented and pretty bad@$$
both anime involves going into a fantasy world.
VERY dynamic character designs.
both are....underrated?
the worlds they go to have a different way of handling conflicts, or rather...wars.
both somehow feel like their referencing Touhou.
In both anime a Hero is summoned to another world and participates in a game. Both anime have a fantasy/adventure feeling.
In both series, the characters are certainly thrown into another fantasy world where their lives changes forever. In that fantasy world, there exists games and competitions.
The other characters from the series resembles animals and presents themselves in a lighthearted way. Despite this, there is drama and action in both series.
Both series gives off an adventure like feeling.
Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? is more serious than Dog Days, but they both include characters being called to a fantasy-like world by a female with animal qualities. The summoned "heroes" are then asked to aid the summoner with protecting their world or their country. In order to do this, the heroes must fight through games/competitions. If you liked one you may like another.
Mondaiji-tachi is like a badass version of Dog Days! In both series, humans are summoned to a fantasy world where they are asked to help take part in various events held within the world. I recommend both if you enjoy fantasy series that have some fighting and part human/part animal characters!
The main characters of both animes have been summoned to help people of another world who are in trouble.
Both involve diffrent animals and races other than humans.
Dog Days is very similar. They both have male leads who are strong. They both have male leads that want to have fun along with companions that are girls. They both have set battles and winner gets something whether it's useful to them or not. Usually at the end something big is happening and the male lead must do something with the help of his friends. The male leads also get summoned to a different world
The differences in Dog Days is that it has more of a romantic setting at the end, while Mondiji " doesn't. But over all both are rather enjoyable.

Both have the 'boy gets into a completely different world' plot, the boy sucked into the world of the non-human lead. Both are fantasy genres that are fairly recent. (Heck, they're even both 2011 spring titles)
A boy from human world comes to a world of mysterious creatures and fantasy theme, and they got the princess, though the both have Ecchi and romance.
Looking for something funny or cute? Then, these two series may be for you. Let's see why:
- both series contains comedy
- both involves being summoned to another world involving the supernatural
- similar conflicts
- both contain light romance
- both are also somewhat heart-warming
- both contain a little ecchi
You get the idea.

Both deal with Wars and have kind of Anthro characters of different species.
Big difference is Dog Days is light hearted and Utawarerumono deals with a lot of death and violence.
Both have a strong cast of characters though and a good protaganist.
Dog people.
Yep, that's about it.
Both shows take place in a fantasy land and involve the male lead coming from another place and helping his new country/land/world fight in their wars. And both shows have a lot of cute girls and action. If you like one you should give a try to the other

Battles between characters where nobody gets seriously Injured, but is still acted out as overly dramatic.

They're essentially the same show in different flavors, normal person gets inexplicably transported to slightly off kilter world and fix everything through their unbelievably reliable Mary Sue powers.
The both include action and fan service in their shows. Dog days is the less serious and more light hearted of the two. Battle girls is somewhat more serious. The anime's both share fantasy elements but the settings are different.
Both have similar art style. Both main characters are thrown into another world unfamiliar with modern technology. Both have a general in the story who is trying to conquer land. Both have genetic abnormalities (Ex. One is a world with women only, and the other is a world with animalistic beings)

In both of them a kid that had a regular life is thrown in a fantasy world.
But, in MÄR they actually fight, and the kid was a nobody with no talent originally,
While on Dog Days it's about acrobatics and he already knew how to do them beforehand.
It has a boy from another world being summoned as the hero of the new world, it has magic, and it feels kinda similar

Both of these cases have a case of people falling into another world and have an Animation style that is cute with bright colors. There is also action built in too.
In both main character falls into another world and must undertake some quests to go back to his/her own world.
Also both have some tasty camouflaged fanservice, delicate colors and nice humor.

Made by the same person as the Nanoha series, and it has very similar character designs
- Created and wirtten by Masaki Tsuzuki who created Dog Days
- Season 2 and 3 have the same director as Dog Days season 1
- Both are mainly created for guys who enjoy hot-blooded shounen-type battles
- Similar character designs and art style (StrikerS particularly)
- Both features battles where there are magical forces keeping true destruction from occurring
- Both have characters with animal ears and tails
- Both feature over-the-top magical attacks that require the attack names to be yelled before set off
- Both Feature Nana Mizuki as both a voice actress and a OP/ED singer
- Now, particularly with Dog Days season 2, both feature large air battles and magical devices that amplify the user's power allowing them to fly and shoot magic
- Subaru from StrikerS and Nanami from Dog Days look awfully alike, and so do Teana and Becky
Fans of Dog Days that watch the Nanoha series will get a deeper appreciation for Dog Days. Dog Days is like a lighter-hearted less sci-fi version of Nanoha with all the boring parts yanked out and way way more animal people.

Both are about a main character who was summoned to another world with weapons being used for combat as well as magic as one of their main forms of combat. The also both are ecchi anime with girls being stripped almost every episode, but Dog Days is less graphic with the fanservice.

Normal boy transported to an alternate fantasy world where he has to deal with warring factions.
|
|
|
No one is in ever any big threat.
Both animes are themed as happy-happy-fun-time.
Both are fantasy and magical themed as well.
|
|
|
Both involve the protagonist being an athlete and then being summoned into a land of fantasy and strife.
|
|
|
great animes , lots of fun watching them , never lost interest
|
|
|
Both series focus around heroes summoned to another world to save a kingdom in crisis. Both series have a video game feel to battling system setup in the series.
|
|
|
Both have Laughable concepts of War.
|
|
|
Similarities:
Both involves the MC's transported in some alternate world.
Both have the same, magic, fantasy and action genre.
Both anime involves sword play.
Both have strange looking creatures.
Both MC's are trying to find a way back to their world.
Dissimilarities:
The MC in one anime is more of a gamer than an ass-kicker, while in the other anime the MC is a real ass-kicker.
In one anime the battle is more like a game in which no extras dies, while in the other anime the extras always dies.
The MC in one anime seemly enjoys being in the alternated world and doesn't seem to be in a hurry to leave, while the MC in the other anime has to use his wits to survive the world he is in with, long enough until he can go home.
One anime has a season 2 which I've dropped, and as for the other one.............we'll see.

|
|
|
Wars against cat people and dog people, but asobi is kinda ecchi ... more like alot.
|
|
|
Comedy and characters with tail and ears.
|
|
|
Brightly colored girls, dealing with the supernatural world around them, not to mention two guys who have been choosen as the hero for the show by the girl, and of course, there is the romance.
|
|
|
Both of these series are good if what you are looking for is a simple, easy going storyline that you don't have to think much about, but can still possibly enjoy, depending on your mood.
|
|
|
Both are fantasy titles that involves magic. The protagonist is shoved into the politics of the setting. Both protagonists happen to be already good in what they're doing in the start of the series, but fit in the 'bumbling idiots' section.
|
|
|
actually genres aren't very similar, but their stories are very alike:
1. people are summoned in another world
2. there are dangerous demons in that world
3. characters have some similarities
4. returning to their own world is very dramatic but everything end happily! ^^
|
|
|
both main guys go into another "world" so their basically outsiders but they manage to make friends and stuff
both main guys are voiced by the same dude (who btw is awesome)
both guys are very flashy and artistic and already know some moves before coming to the "anime"
both have a lot of female leads behind them.
both have shounen battles
both main female leads are of high status and can't leave where they are so easily.
their's colourful hair everywhere in both animes.
there's little to no blood, but their still both mature animes.
|
|
|
both have that medieval/fantasy/magical power kind of stuff to it. basically the setting is pretty much the same
both have one regular guy with lots of potential meeting royalty and being the "hero"
the animation, the characters and how they look are very similar
one of the main characters are also a tsundere
|
|
|
