Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru

Quite shocked, as a straight guy i finished many other genres, yet the art style of this particular anime caught my attention. I have to say, besides the ending of the anime, i really liked the anime, first of all i love some of the characters quite a bit and the entire story is quite interesting. Definitely, a comfy anime to watch and im glad i watched it, even though he's a guy some of the gender-bend yuri moments were really wholesome, i also like how he didn't always freak out and played the role of a woman really well without breaking character often. it ... was a really nice story however the ending is quite disappointing, i really would've loved to have seen the kiss scene but ultimately that moment got ruined by the childhood friend

I really suggest watching this anime, after watching it. it made me realise i miss this kind of art style, not to mention the guy really played the role, i expected to be cringing at the guy but i didn't, really good story and i would happily watch it again, Not amazing but definitely not bad by any means. lovely characters, nice story, interesting plot, ruined ending of s1

Boy who looks like a girl to begin with, pretends to be a girl to enroll in an all girls school, to fullfill his granfather's wish. This anime's premise has the potential to be great however, it does not live up to its potential. First of, the reason for Mizuho our protagonist to enroll into an all girls school is kind of weak, just because his grandfather wanted him to do so and even than the story did not explain fully the reason for his request. Our protagonist willingly decided to go along with his grandfather's wish. Now, this suituation could have resulted into a ... lot of highjinks or funny scenerios which would have made this anime series interesting, instead, all we get is a couple of instances where Mizuho feels awkward like using the girl's washroom or changing in the locker room.
I know that this series is meant to be a light drama and that the plot is about how Mizuho through his good nature and kind personality, change the lives of those around him, but i never expected it to be so generic to the point of being mudane. I am not asking this series to have fan service or it to be herem (the title doesn't help) but at least it could have been more realistic in the way that the story is being potrayed.
For example, Mizuho pretending to be a girl, has to wear a bra to keep up with his appearance. However, when he is in his dorm room, shouldn't he be wanting to take off his bra? Even though he is around people who knows that he is really a guy, namely his childhood friend Mariya, he still continues to dress as a female. I am not a sexist but being a guy watching this anime, it raises a lot of quetions. Is Mizuho suppose to be feminine? Does he enjoys wearing girls clothings? Why doesn't he have or wear any of his guy cloths when he is in his room? Why the very long hair? Just because his father said so, to never cut his hair, its too convenient for the plot that the writers come out with. Which guy his age would even listen?
My next gripe would be doesn't anyone even suspects that he is a dude the entire series? It just brushes under the carpet this glaring issue when the suituation arises. In one episode, Mizuho is suppose to have swim classes but he avoids it as the story explains that he is "having a girl day". The school president Takako did bring up this issue but the story quickly side track it with Mariya having a competition with Takako instead. Thats about it, no one else suspects him further of being a guy to the point that he is ellected to become the school's elder! I was so hopping that at the end of the series he would have come clean about his status but the writers decided to end it without even reviewing whom he chooses as both Takako and Mariya finally felt that they have feelings for him (no suprise there).

I would like to end this review by saying that even though the series is only 12 episodes, i could not wait for it to end sooner. By episode four, i started to be disinterested. Even when there is different voice actresses, most of the characters sound the same (jap dub). The japanese subtitles had many errors too. I am not bashing this anime, i actually quite enjoyed it till episode four when things started to go downhill for me.

Overall 5/10 watched if free, better to skip it.

If you're like me, you probably read the synopsis and tags and thought "this might be a fun/funny watch".
The story sets it up like it's going to be a good comedy, but only leaves you with disappointment.
The characters are terrible, boring, flat. And the voice acting was like driving nails into my ears. Every episode was a chore to get through.
If you're looking for a comedy, pass on this, it has nothing going for it.
