Junjou Romantica 2

This is just a light-hearted series about love. The three main couples are each very different but all enjoyable.

Junjuo Romantica is the most outrageous and extremely comical, but there are serious moments where you are just on the edge of your seat, waiting for a resolution. Their story is just adorable.

Junjou Egoist is by far the most realistic to me. This couple faces real challenges and i think that their story is believable. Their intereaction with eachother is just to die for, it's just so sweet! This is my favorite couple btw :3

Lastly Junjou Terrorist is just funny as hell! I haven't seen many episodes with this couple, but just cuase they aren't seen as much, doesn't mean that they aren't just as awesome

Sound was nice, it set the mood but didn't really stand out.The opening and ending themes weren't as good as the first season, but they are still good.

Art in this anime ranges from little chibi cartoons to big round sparly eyed faces. Each character has different eyes that are very expressive and they way they look is just...drool-worthy. lol. The backgrounds are nice to look at, but nothing really amazing.

Characters and their interations are definetley the selling point for this anime. Each character is just fun to learn about, and as you hear their inner monologues, you get to understand them so well. They are like my second family now xD.

Over-all, this anime is just so much fun to watch, and i recommend it to all that are willing to give yaoi a shot! You wont' regret it! read more

For a person not used to the yaoi genre, this anime has been quite a challenge for me to watch, but after accepting the fact that there are people with penises who prefer sharing their bed with other people with penises, it went down smoothly.
Junjou Romantica is like a chocolate cake whose frosting melted and is dripping sugar so badly that you can't take anymore of the sweetness. But in this case, you're also a diabetic.
The story starts off with introducing various characters who are all in their own way downright generic, but still manages to keep our focus due to all the random sex/kissing scenes in the very beginning.
For those of us used to the usual romance anime, a kiss means affection and sex means a relationship. Stop right here if you're expecting anything of that sort from Romantica. In this wacky world, a kiss is an attempt of rape while sex is just emptying the content of your balls into the youngest male child you happen across that day.
The setting of this anime is typical for the Shounen/Shoujo Ai genre: everyone is gay, and those who think they aren't, don't seem to have any objections to elderly men taking away their virginity from behind.

The greatest problem of this anime becomes obvious as we come to the center of the cake: the pairings.
So, let's take a short view into the minds of our protagonists, shall we?

1.)Nowaki - A college freshman, who randomly decides Hiro is his soulmate and thus makes it his life's mission to force himself onto him. He is also fond of overusing the sentence ''I love you'' and is in complete control of the relationship.
Hiro - A professor of literature at a local college with denial problems, who doesn't seem to mind being raped by a boy who is 4 years younger than he is.
They live together.

2.)Usagi - A well known writer, who randomly decides Misaki is his soulmate and thus makes it his life's mission to force himself onto him. He is also fond of overusing the sentence ''I love you'' and is in complete control of the relationship.
Misaki - A college freshman with denial problems, who doesn't seem to mind being raped by an elderly gentleman who is 10 years older than he is.
They live together.

3.)Shinobu - A 3rd year ''kokose'' who randomly decides Miyagi is his soulmate and thus makes it his life's mission to force himself onto him.
Miyagi - A professor of literature at a local college with denial problems, who doesn't seem to mind being raped by a boy who is 14 years younger than he is.
They live together.

The couples are more than obviously all made by the same recipe. And unfortunately this time it's ''Sugar, no spice and everything nice.'' This anime is so sweet and innocent that, at times, makes the contents of your stomach do the macarena.

By this time you must be wondering ''Why did this crazy woman give this anime a 7 if she just spent half an hour writing about it's downsides?''. Well, now, I'll have to bite my tongue.
Although the idea in itself is a major disaster, the redeeming factor of this anime are actually - the characters.
As I stated before, the premise of the main plot for every couple is absolutely identical. What I failed to mention is that every character has his own story, his own heavy load he has to bear while trying to convince himself that gay isn't OK. And that's what makes this anime worth the watch.

All in all, this anime was made for the Yaoi/Shounen Ai fandome, and even if you don't count yourself in as being one of them, the light tone of the story, the beautiful artwork and the comedical sequences (which aren't that rare and are hilarious) should be reason enough to make you sit through this gay madness. read more
