One Man vs. an Empire! Through fear and conquest, the Empire of Valdana holds the future of most of human space within its iron hands, and for generations, those hands have belonged to the Landless Lords of the ruling Tytania dynasty.

But now the foundation of the empire is crumbling, pockets of rebellion are forming and when a mission sent to punish the city-state of Euriya is shockingly defeated, the man responsible becomes the target of a galaxy-wide manhunt!

For Fan Hyurlick, architect of Tytania's first defeat, glory becomes desperation as his own side betrays him. Now Fan must not only save his own life, but somehow turn the tables on opponents who have whole worlds to command!

Space themed anime series do not come by too often these days, so when one does you have plenty of reason to look forward to it. Being a loyal space rts player myself, this was great news for me. Although Tytania didn't quite deliver alot of epic battles you see in games like Homeworld2 etc but instead emphasizes on the political side, it was unique in its own way. Unique enough to provide a good and enjoyable show.

At the start of the series we are introduced to both the Tytania clan and the carefree 'protagonist', Admiral Fan Hyulick. He becomes the main target of Tytania read more

Overall: 7.5/10

If you haven't seen the oft-compared LoGH (Legend of the Galactic Heroes) yet but intend to, and aren't sure which to watch first, I'd say Tytania is best to start with. Personally, having seen and loved LoGH beforehand, I came to Tytania in hopes of a similar show that I could enjoy. To that end, Tytania was a letdown. LoGH will make it harder to appreciate Tytania for what it is.

...And what Tytania is is a reasonably solid show, with a few notable shortcomings. I can't laud it with praise, nor can I pick it apart with criticism. It is reasonably well-made when read more

My first very review so bear with my lack of skill.

I'm a big Galactic Heroes fan so when I found out Tytania was from the same writer I was excited. I wasn't disappointed, though I want it to progress to the level of LOGH.

Story: Though Tytania is currently not as deep as Legend of Galactic Heroes it still has the feel. An unstoppable force being challenged by an unexpected event. I like how the storyline is continuous. I'm sure the plot will thicken a bit more. And one important thing for some viewers these days who may have short attention read more

Before writing my review, upon reading the other reviews, most of them compares Tytania with LOGH, which i have yet to watch. Therefore, i would have no biases in this issue. However, after 26 episodes of Tytania, it seems to me that there ought be 2 more seasons at least. First, Lydia is still only 10 years old, and she ought be a main character ---> hence her development, hence, the story would take years. Second, it is hinted by the narrator that Tytania would fall and that Fan and Jouslain would be utterly important which they are not currently. Lastly, from the ending, it read more

Anime: Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu
It is made by the same author and some of the same people worked on both.

Both are space operas with empires fighting against rebel fleets and both have the same atmosphere as of the first episode. Its kind of early in the series to say they are the same but I can safely say that both Tytania and LOGH have the same feel. Battles in both emphasize tactics and fleet movements in three-dimensional space.

Tytania is a bit more modernized including communications networks obviously descended from the Internet and other such ideas.

Anime: Heroic Age
Both involve battles in space/land with high tech equipments
They both have basically 2 sides that is going against each-other and in both they have the protagonist be the winning chance to beat the "Dominant" side.

In heroic age, the main character has the ability to transform into something called the 'nodus' which is basically a giant armored fighting beast. While in Tytania the mc uses Strategy and tactics

If you enjoy space battles and the weak beating the strong with the help of the protagonist you will enjoy both of these anime's.

Anime: Ginga Sengoku Gunyuuden Rai
Both are Space Opera, focusing on tactics and political maters was it in defending ones Empire or Expanding it, thought Thunder Jet has a feudal Era theme while Tytania has a western theme.

Anime: Glass no Kantai: La Legende du Vent de l'Univers
Both are space Operas.. and i hate to admit it, but they are very smiler to each other (nobles fighting each other, and a revolution comes to surfece to free the people).
you will keep thinking of the other anime while watching one of them, but Tytania is much more worse (i mean soooo much worse).
Glass fleet is good.
