SynopsisThe Kodomo No Omocha OVA is a thirty-minute animation video that was made before the TV series. It covers the first volume of the manga, so it's equivalent to TV episodes 1-6. It relates Sana's troubles with Hayama at school as a result of the "oyakodon baka" situation and culminates when Hayama's dad and sister realize their mistakes thanks to Sana's efforts.

Both animations are comedy/shoujo/romance (with the romance being not-so-romantic). Kodomo no Omocha OVA's lead character is a TV star on the show "Child's Toy" while the lead character from Kirarin Revolution becomes an idol and sings for her career. Both characters have love problems (like most shoujo animes) that are drawn out to an almost unbearable aspect.

Both lead characters are TV idols which have love problems. Full Moon wo Sagashite takes a more conservative and serious tone, while Kodomo no Omocha OVA is more comical and less deep. Both are tear jerkers at times, and it is easy to get attatched to the characters.
