A cyber battle sci-fi. In 2022, the technology of quantum computing has greatly advanced and many people have transferred their mind into cyber space.

Remu's sister, Shiki, skipped grades and entered a high school in the academic city "Okinotori-island Mega Float City (OMFC)" when she was 14. One day, Shiki confessed to her brother via Skype that she was talking to him directly from the cyber space and that her real body had been kept in a water tank filled with a culture medium. It's called "body pool" and Shiki connected to the network by nanomachines implanted in her brain.

Remu was surprised but he accepted her decision until an accident called "Early Rupture" happened. The network server got overloaded and users' minds were lost in cyber space leaving soulless living bodies in the body pools. In order to bring Shiki's mind back, Remu visits her apartment in OMFC and there meets Shiki escaped from the hospital. But the girl tells him that she is not Shiki and she happened to have taken over Shiki's body.

When Remu tries to figure out the situation, a violent attack strikes the apartment.

Arve Rezzle is as short anime OVA that is part of the 2013 Young Animator Project. Young Animator Training Project/Anime Mirai short reviews: Part 9/12

The previous Young Animator Training Projects have had a very family friendly sort of tone with well told stories and universal themes. Arve Rezzle then comes along and says "fuck that, let's do some light novel bullshit about a teenager who wants to bang his sister!" and we get this mess.

OK there's a little more to it than that. It's a sci-fi story based around this social network which you upload your mind to, except one day suddenly everyone's minds get temporarily separated from their bodies and they lose all their memories. The idea here is that read more

Arve Rezzle: Kikaijikake no Yoseitachi is set in the near future of 2022, technology has advanced enough so that a perfect rendering of yourself can be projected onto a computer screen without the opposition knowing that you're not really there (for quite some time too!). That's some kind of technology!

This story is based around two siblings, Remu and Shiki Mikage. They have a close/distant relationship, because Shiki is apart of a project/game/experiment at her academy OMFC, where you place yourself into a device called a "Body Pool" and you do not have to eat, drink, sleep, or go potty. She says she can study all read more

Twenty minutes of my life I won't get back.

I'll give this anime credit where it deserves it. The initial story concept is decent. Also the art, and voice acting were alright. Besides that it was terrible. The characters are boring. The most fleshed out characters only defined personality trait is that he wants to sleep with his sister. The stories premise raises way to many questions for a one episode release, and answers none of them. Even if this were a complete series I would have dropped it here because the characters didn't hold my interest, and the plot was a complete mystery.

Anime: Sakasama no Patema: Beginning of the Day
"Arve Rezzle: Mechanized Fairies" / "Arve Rezzle: Kikaijikake no Yousei-tachi" and "Patema Inverted: Beginning of the Day" / "Sakasama no Patema: Beginning of the Day" both involve a strange girl suddenly arriving in a normal guy's life and then immediately bringing on armed pursuers who wish to hunt them down by any means possible.

Anime: Mou Hitotsu no Mirai wo.
"Arve Rezzle: Mechanized Fairies" / "Arve Rezzle: Kikaijikake no Yousei-tachi" and "Mou Hitotsu no Mirai wo." are short standalone science fiction works that involve an experiment or procedure having unintended consequences and thus resulting in an unfavourable outcome for the protagonists.

These two anime both happen to feature a machine with a tank that the body rests in during its usage as well as a twist that leads up to a cliff-hanger ending.

Anime: Byousoku 5 Centimeter
In these two films, there is hardly anything in common in terms of plot. I just recommend because they both have a very similar portrayal of the characters.

Anime: Fractale
Both of these have some level of adventure. Though Arve Rezzle is a shorter series and Fractale is a longer one, they both have some huge computer network that people use or rely on.
