SynopsisKaito Kid strikes again in this new annual installment of the Detective Conan movies. An actress asked for Mouri Kogoro to protect a precious jewel of hers which Kid has vowed to steal. On the day of the theft, Kaito Kid dressed up as Shinichi and matched wits with Conan, and fled in the end. To thank them, the actress invited Kogoro and family and friends to Sapporo, but a bigger scheme, and a great emergency is just about to unravel high above the clouds in the plane that they're taking...

I don't usually write reviews, I just feel bad that this particular DC movie didn't have one. So, here goes nothing.
I rated the story plot a 7/10. If you've seen the first seven movies, then chances are this plot will be better than some of the other movies you've seen. If you've seen the movies after this one, then this definitely won't be the worst plot you'll have to sit through. Being a mystery series, you'd expect a mystery involved, and there is one obviously. But I personally wasn't the biggest fan of this mystery. It's been a while since I've watched, but the mystery took place during a very very small portion of the movie, so don't expect anything amazing. This movie focuses mainly on drama and fan service, which isn't all that bad, but they didn't execute it as well as they had done in some of the previous movies. Not to mention, there's that extra bit of unrealistic-ness found in pretty much every DC movie but it didn't bother me much. Overall, I guess the plot was good at most. It would've been better, probably, if there weren't so many more DC movie plots that were a notch better than this one.
The artwork in this movie is very similar to movie seven. I ranked it an 7/10 and if you know anything about DC's artwork, then that should be pretty self explanatory.
The soundtrack for this movie, like the other movies, is good. Not the best, but definitely not anywhere near the worst. The ending theme is pretty catchy at first but then wears down on you a bit. Still, the music deserves a solid 7.
The characters, in this movie, aren't all that splendid. I'm not talking about the recurring characters part of the DC world, I'm talking about the suspects in the murder and whatnot. The mystery portion of this movie went by so fast, there was no room for character development. Everyone seemed very flat and uninteresting, which takes away from the whole mystery experienced. I'd have to say it's the one thing that's keeping this movie from being better than it is. Only an average 6/10 on this, because I've seen worse.
Thank god for the drama, because the excitement which most people find useless I enjoyed. It was enough to keep me hooked throughout the movie, so there's another 8/10.
Overall, though I could very easily drop this down to a 7 or so, I'd say it still deserves an 8/10**. It's a good way to kill some time when you're bored.
**EDIT: I've dropped this down to a 7, upon further thought and consideration.
Magician of Silver Sky is rarity in Conan's case file where the drama is more intense and the mystery aspect seems appears just as a plot device. The same can be said with Hoshi no Koe, where the romance/drama is more focused rather than its mecha aspect. On technical side of thing both have gorgeusly great CGI and well detailed background. The story in both movies was rather straightforward with a twist on here and there but Sadly Conan Movies was a bit predictable.
