As close encounters of the twisted kind between the residents of the planet Develuke (represented primarily by the female members of the royal family) and the inhabitants of Earth (represented mainly by one very exhausted Rito Yuki) continue to escalate, the situation spirals even further out of control. When junior princesses Nana and Momo transferred into Earth School where big sister LaLa can (theoretically) keep an eye on them, things SHOULD be smooth sailing. But when Momo decides she'd like to "supplement" Rito's relationship with LaLa with a little "sisterly love," you know LaLa's not going to waste any time splitting harems. Unfortunately, it's just about that point that Yami, the Golden Darkness, enters the scene with all the subtleness of a supernova, along with an army of possessed high school students! All of which is certain to make Rito's life suck more than a black hole at the family picnic. Unless, of course, a certain semi-demonic princess can apply a little of her Develukean Whoop Ass to exactly that portion of certain other heavenly bodies!

First off, I want to say To LOVE-Ru Darkness is not for everyone.

This show is NOT for people who hate fanservice and/or harems. This show IS for people who love tons of ecchi, harems, and more ecchi. To top it off, To LOVE-Ru Darkness actually has... wait for it... a plot. *Gasp* Really?! Yes, it does. It's not just mindless fanservice (although that's cool too). You should definitely watch this show if ecchi is your thing.

...But you all probably knew that since this is the third season of the To LOVE-Ru series and you've seen the first two seasons (To LOVE-Ru and Motto To LOVE-Ru, read more

There can only be one series that would be considered the forefront of a particular genre that currently gives it its own identity or face; that series in question would be To Love Ru. It has had a rough start in its adaptation to the original source material by not providing a coherent narrative to the manga. Eventually it has made a name for itself for being the aforementioned forefront of Ecchi thanks to the later seasons that are somewhat “reboots” in the pure sense of the word reboot. Now comes To Love Ru Darkness, which is a separate manga that continues the story of read more

To LOVE-Ru Darkness

………… That’s the best way to explain To LOVE-Ru Darkness; Season 3 of the To LOVE-Ru series, it once again changes the formula and oh man, is it good. After watching LOVE-Ru and Motto, I was rather curious on how Darkness would continue the series; not saying that Motto ends in a way where you can stop (Not at all), but rather, it’d get a little boring seeing Yuuki Rito continue to try and confess read more

To love ru darkness, brings up the new hope about how a harem anime which usually have negative comments can make all that comments gone. A common knowledge to all the anime lover that harem anime is usually is lack in the plot and story, since what makes harem anime interesting is fanservice and all beautiful or moe girl. If you have ever seen The World God Only Knows then maybe you have seen a good example how a harem anime can turn into from fun harem into a serious harem anime (in story aspects).

Anime: Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?
If you like ecchi, if you like gorgeous character designs, if you like comedy, then you would be well served to give these two shows a try.

Both shows fall under the same genres of comedy, romance, school, harem, and ecchi.

Also both shows manage to tastefully mix in light, mild, and entertaining drama. That being said, both shows always prioritize the comedy and ecchi.

I enthusiastically recommend both shows.

Anime: Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai: Megami-hen
- Both have the same genres; Comedy, Harem, Romance, Shounen. With the exception of Ecchi, School, and Sci-fi on To LOVE-Ru Darkness, and Supernatural on KamiNomi Megami-hen.
- Both have main male lead surrounded by lots of females(well, it IS harem anime..)
- Both have a really nice plot, unlike other harem anime.
- There is no action genre, but both of them have some action parts.
- Both anime's art is good.
- Both anime's Opening Theme is good.
- Both are third season, and the third season's female lead is different than the first and second season.

Anime: Witch Craft Works
The male lead is a very kind, unselfish person and the female lead is very protective of him.

Both shows put an emphasis on comedy and fun character interactions but WCW doesn't have ecchi.

Anime: Date A Live
If you like amazing art, wonderful voice acting, engaging supernatural plots and plenty of comedy in your harem anime, then both shows deliver.

Anime: Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou
Same harem and ecchi, but ichiban has more of a plot, but if you just in it for the ecchi then it shouldn't matter they both have tons of it

Anime: High School DxD New
Both HSDxD & TLRD have a male protagonist who is the 'leader' of a harem, surrounded by girls.
The reason why I chose Darkness is because it actually had a plot and this season of DxD is probably going to have one aswell ( according to first 2 episodes )
Both have alot of ecchi scenes and powers
