Gyagu Manga Biyori is an anime that is about absolutely nothing. It is comprised of 12 short stories (5 minutes long each) that only build up a small amount of plot for each story. The anime feeds off the stupidest things, but is quite humorous.

Gyagu Manga Biyori is a collection of off the wall short clips that manage to present some of the strangest and most hilarious stories ever conceived within a five minute running time--hell, sometimes they even manage to fit two plots into one episode. This length attempts to ensure that things remain frantic, fast-paced and fun, which Gyagu Manga Biyori is for the most part. This series has a critical flaw however: for every gut-buster of an episode, there exists a five minute dud to act as a counterweight, leading to a very uneven watching experience as a whole.

Despite its mixed results, Gyagu Manga Biyori deserves read more

Gagyu Manga Biyori is one of those comedy sketch shows based on the manga of the same name. Set out in short five minute episodes they set out to try to make u laugh by showing you crude drawings silly parodies and anything else in between. Being a super short anime the comedy hits you fast and hard. You'll either get it or you dont. And its painstakingly obvious that they care more about the punchline over the artwork. But then would you care of what you drew if it was a short 5 minute skit of nothing but japanese slapstick?

Hands down the best anime I have ever seen... You'll laugh you'll cry, you'll fall in love... It's good... The ending theme is very heartwarming...

My full audio review above.
This show was great for it's length even if most fo the jokes were lost in translation and culture but the ones that the western audience does get are great. When you get a chance check out the director.

Short sketches of mostly completely obscene material. Both hilarious gag shows.
Both have similar fast-paced styles of crrude humor. However, the episoides in DMC follow an actual plot, whereas Gyagu Manga Biyori tends to resort more to randomness.

Gag Manga Biyori doesn't make much sense and neither does Cromartie High School. Both shows seems similiar in the way they are animated. Gag Manga is still a bit more random since there is no exact storyline unlike Cromartie High School. Cromartie High School still has main characters. Gag Manga has a couple of returning characters but mostly is new poeple in every episodes. Both are weird, strange and leaves your mind broken...
Neko Rahmen is a extremely random anime, Gyagu Manga Biyori is even more random! 0_o
If you like crazy, random humor, with some weird loose reference to history, you will like this series. I saw on japanese blogs that peple who like Gintama often like GMB.
Gyagu Manga Biyori is more for short unconnected stories, Ping Pong Club has some storyline and a bit more sense, but humor is similar in both of them: wacky, vulgar and sometimes very topical.
