Higurashi is good man. I marathoned the first two seasons at the time and apparently I joined MAL right after it. You know, when I was young and stupid.

The episode title for part II is also Endless Eight, which makes perfect sense in an very unlogical way. I assume part III will also be titled Endless Eight.

Yeah, I figured you were up to date but you thought Endless Eight was over so I didn't know what to think anymore.
I really enjoyed part II, excellent execution. I just need to rewatch it with subs now. I managed to follow the raw, probably because I knew pretty much what was going to happen from being spoilered and because of the repeated scenes. I read the chapter afterwards and realized they'll need at least another episode to finish it. The reason for the time-loop was not what I expected, it was even better actually. Gotta love that crazy Haruhi.
I think I'm going to download Chihiro's Asura, Aniyoshi is taking fucking forever and I don't really care that much about AC anyway. Wish me luck ;)

It's not that I'm lazy, it's that whenever you read something first the animation/movie/TV version will always be compared to that and usually doesn't compare. I prefer to get the story, at least for this, in the anime first. Especially since it's not officially translated or something. I don't know...

Kai is a solid choice, especially since Umineko is coming up. I did not like Lain too much but maybe you will. I hear it's one of those shows people either love or hate. Who knows, maybe you will love it.
I have no idea what Pumpkin Scissors is about so I'll give you some random recommendations in no particular order:
Baccano
Tentai Senshi Sunred
Shigofumi
Moyashimon
4 very different shows but they're all good, imho.
